Good morning,

Another clay creation to share this morning. I made this little owl magnet. The owl sits on top of a background I made and is surrounded by a silver oval frame I purchased at Ollie's.

The frames came in round, oval, square, and rectangle, shapes and in several sizes.

Ollie's is a discount store, fairly new to Columbus. It is much like Odd Lots, but our store is VERY BIG. There are so many deals there, that it's just nice to go and look around on a regular basis. Definitely a place to find frames and even photo paper.

I love their book section, too, and they often have lots of inexpensive computer games that are lots of fun. I bought my share of books and games!!! They have a huge selection of DUMMY BOOKS.

I love making owls, and I try to make each one a little different. I have a collection of them now. This particular owl hangs in my office on a steel rod 3-way lamp I use -- so I can see what I'm working on. Underneath him is a pom-pom face. I'll post his picture at another time.

In the picture up top, on the right, the picture came out looking like it had a gold rim, but it is silver. I edited it to make it look more like it truly looks.

Along with loving clay creations, I still love doing my artwork. And since this blog is basically about that, here are your free pngs for today.

This could be a quote box, a title box, or a photo box. You pick how you want to use it.

I love the bright colors in this, and hope to use it myself soon.

You could also use it for a card front or inside the card with a message.

Here is the png again, with a different colored rim.

This is inverted. I always like to do an invert of all my creations. Sometimes they look more spectacular to me that way.

Anyway, it gives it a different coloring, and surely one will be just right for you.

I am off of work today.

And tomorrow ... as I work for "the man", and if you've read any of the news, you know there's a huge segment of people taking mandatory time off, without pay.

This really hurts ... for me ... as my husband lost his job in March of this year, and the income that went with it. He's working again, but at a much lower pay, and it is through a temp agency, even though he's permanently on that job. If he gets hired, hopefully, he will have enough of a pay increase that we will be doing okay.

So, to lose 20% of my income per pay period during this change in our life is quite a chunk, when you consider us as a couple. Believe me. I am watching my pennies every day.

I let my website go due to this. I just couldn't afford to do it anymore.

Hope you all are having a wonderful morning, and this proves to be a productive and energizing day for you.

Enjoy!
Good morning!!

A quick post this morning.

Here is my third Wild West Hair doll, only the second with a paper body. I featured her yesterday in my post, but wanted to have her own post.

These are the face steps I did. Each is numbered. In the first, I formed her face shape. In 2: I had already made and baked her eyes, nose and mouth. In 3: I pushed the baked face features into her unbaked face. In 4: I added cheeks and chin. In 5: I worked and smoothed her face till I got her looking the way I liked her.

I was not looking to make a beautiful face, but one with some character. I really like how she came out.

Of course, her skirt is scrapping paper, and I glued pearls around her neck, and glued a clay decoration on her dress. Her crown was made from paper, and glued into her hair.

And here's a free png for today for all your creative needs.

Hope you have a terrific day.

Good morning!

This weekend, I was working on making a clay background for a mixed media project. I just had to take a picture of it to play with it in my graphics program. It no longer looks the same, but I built this picture from its base.

The picture features more of my clay sculptures. You see my new Wild West Hair Doll in the lower left hand corner, followed by the snail, the blue owl, the little butterfly with quilled wings, and the flower face under the quote is also a clay face that was edited and added to complete it.

I chose a quote I like about art to finish it off.

The little Wild West Hair Doll has another clay creation on its front dress. She has pearls around her neck, and a crocheted trim around her base. On top of her head is a paper type crown I made. Her face is not a "pretty" face, but the face of a character. Big eyes, big nose, and a really big mouth.

I'm very happy with how she turned out, and I will feature her alone one day, as I took pictures of building her face as I went.

She sits in my living room with my other red headed Wild West Doll. Her dress is a scrap paper I bought long ago.

Today's free pngs are above and below. This is a flower face I created this morning. I'm always looking for "sayings" for my cards, and just don't have enough with messages on them. Here is one I plan to use on "girly" cards. I can print her out, put her on a stacked base, and add her to my card/s.

Feel free to snag and use her, if you wish.

Here is the face again, without words. I may want to use just her, or her with another saying.

Both are free to snag and use.

Hope you have a fantastic Tuesday!!!
Good morning,

It's Monday, and the start of another work week.

I made this creation above after visiting www.theyummylife.com. She has lots of yummy items on her site. I loved her flavored waters, and they are so clear and delicious-looking, but I have a hard time not blending the berries.

So I made my own, blending the whole berry. It was delicious!

You should check out her site though. It is full of wonderful recipes.

In the creation above, I made the flower, took the picture of my cocktail, and the little bird with a flower is one of my clay creations.
Good morning,

This is actually Sunday's post. Getting it up now.
Above are the flowers I talked about in yesterday's post. It's the same flower, but each was done using different special effects, but they all started from the first black flower.
And here is the biggest flower. All of the flowers were done at this size, and reduced way down for the flower summary in the first picture. If you are interested in any of the others in a larger size, let me know.

Here, I put one of the other flowers into a common phrase. The little butterfly is a clay creation that I made a few days ago. His wings are quilled, and under the clay are two quilled circles to hold his body above the wings. He actually stands up on my desk. So cute. Little movable eyes too!

And here is the quote without the butterfly.

These pngs are free for you to snag and use in your art projects.

Enjoy.

Good Saturday morning!

I know I've talked about the clay creations I've made over the last couple of months. It's well over 350 items and maybe more now, as I just keep creating.

So today, I thought I'd feature some of the items.

In the above picture, you see six individual items, 3 off to the left, and 3 more off to the right. There's a little girl looking slightly up, and big flower (for a magnet or pin), a small box with a lid and off to the right is a heart, a lion, and another heart. The center item is a clay bunny.

The center items are a bunch of individual clay items. This is a clay collage, and the items are attached to a base. It has many hearts, flower faces, a little slug on a base, a little clay block and just some other fun things.

In this picture, you see a close up a the bunny face.

Another close up, but angled down a little to see some of the items better.

For today's art, here is my example showing how to use the quote boxes below. Same design, but one is an invert of the other. The quote boxes are available to snag and use in your art or scrap booking projects. Also would make a great card front.

The quote box is in png format, so if you have a graphics program, you can download them into it, and there will be no backgrounds. Of course, the top one is an invert, so it will have a black background,

This quote box has no background, so you can choose what colors you want to use yourself.

Not a fan of black and white. Tip! The easiest way I know to add color is by using a drop shadow at 100%, all settings at 0-no blur. After you choose your color, duplicate it to deepen your color.

To make it extra fancy, you can always bevel a black design to get an interesting look or use special effects to make them down right fantastic. Try unsharpening it, too.

I also like to use black and white in cutouts and then use special effects on that as well.

Tomorrow, you will see some flowers and a common quote that I did using a black and white design, using the cutout method and then the special effects. Every flower on tomorrow's post will be a different special effect.

These can get quite creative and colorful, so stop back tomorrow, to see more clay creations as well as pick up some new pngs.

The weather this week has been in the 90's. It is HOT!!!!

It is so hard to understand how many reports you hear of parents leaving small children or pets in a car while they run into a store somewhere. So many die needlessly.

As a young mother of three, years ago, I can't fathom this. If I took my kids with me, they always went in with me! Our children should be our greatest treasures and blessings. They were NEVER an inconvenient, wherever I was.

Taking your children with you teaches them to be socially-acceptable, if you are doing it right!

MSN had a voting poll several weeks ago regarding a child/ren being in a restaurant, and asked if they belong there. The answer is yes, as long as you've taken the time to teach them proper behavior.

My children learned early, that it didn't matter whether we just arrived, were mid meal, or what! If they got out of control, we were leaving. Why do so many young parents today, not know how to handle their children? And once we got up to leave ... WE WERE LEAVING! And when we got home, they spent time in their rooms.

Getting back to the weather, my work place even sent out an email on Thursday, reminding us how hot it is this week, and NOT to leave children or pets in our cars. C'mon folks! This is a no-brainer. Talk about the "dumbing down of America"!

Okay, enough said.

Have a terrific, and SAFE Saturday!

I'll be back tomorrow!

Good morning again,

Just a quick post to show off my blackberries from two blackberry bushes we planted about 2 years ago.

I just love blackberries, and in the past, I've bought them at the store. The prices just keep going up and up, and I hate paying their prices.

So two years ago, I bought two blackberries bushes, and my husband was kind enough to plant them in the back yard. I know the bushes spread. I watched as new shoots came off the plants. We are trying to contain them to one corner of the yard in front of our shed. There is still plenty of room for them to spread their way back to the shed.

Last year, we saw a few tiny blackberries, but didn't bother to pick them.

Last year was a hard year for me, since I had my whipple surgery at the end of July, and then had 2 months of recovery off from work. I don't think I made it into the back yard all last summer.

This year, I could see from my deck window, lots of red berries, and they were huge!

My husband mowed the yard last Saturday, and he decided to pick the first three blackberries of our season. One was ready, and really sweet. The other two still had a tint of red, and were sour-sweet. I told him we needed to let them get completely black.

I took this picture beside a quarter so you can see how huge they are. With all the rain this year, they are very juicy!

The two bushes are full of fruit, so I should be picking berries soon. No more buying them at the store this year.

If, perchance, the birds begin to devour them, I will buy some type of netting to cover them.

Cj

P.S. When I was growing up, my neighborhood friends and I often went in search of fruit and nuts. There were plenty available on open plots of land on the way into town.

Even though it was HOT HOT outside, we'd bundle up to protect our skin from the thorns and spiders we found in wild blackberry bushes. And off we'd go. We gathered apples, blackberries, and walnuts throughout the summer and early fall (for the walnuts). We'd take brown paper bags from the store and fill them up. We took a red wagon with us to put all the bags in.

This was always days of fun! And sweating!!!! (And, of course, there was always the "tick" search, once we got home. It was great to have a sister to help with this!)

I loved making apple pies, and often did and sold them to neighbor ladies for their card playing groups.

The blackberries were always mine to eat alone.

The walnuts would drop from this huge walnut tree. They were in their green, thick skins, but we always picked them up. I used to peel the thick, green skin from them, which left my hands stained all brown. And then I'd lay them out on the ground, side by side, under my back yard bedroom window. I'd leave them there, drying in the sun, and occasionally open one to see if had dried out enough or was still moist.

Oh how I loved those times.

I also took in ironing from neighbors, earning extra money.

Did you ever do this when you were a kid?Cj Hamptonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16544906698454433999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2685565432387168250.post-72980654382756216682013-07-17T02:42:00.001-05:002013-07-17T02:42:48.378-05:00Happy Birthday to those born July 17th!

Good morning,

A quick post of a little clay bunny with yarn ears and legs.

I made this over the weekend. He is sitting on a type of half marble rock that you can buy at most craft stores. I bought a bag of these many, many years ago, and have used them occasionally for different things. I had one sitting on my desk, and wanted the bunny to sit perfectly perched on something, and this decoration came in quiet handy.

To keep his ears up, I put wires in his head. Once he was baked, I twisted the strands of yarn around the wire, gluing as I went. After that dried, I tied two hot pink yarn ribbons around the ends. The Little white wisps at the end stick out and show well on him. The clay bunny is holding a little clay heart.

His legs are also made out of yarn so he has dangling legs with little clay drops at the end for his shoes.

I cut him out of the picture I took, and placed him this artwork for today.

Good morning!

I'm back with a mixture of my artwork along with a clay-sculptured heart decorated with a little flower face. It was shown previously, but this post is basically featuring it as the only clay creation today.

Good morning,

Here are a few more clay creations from over the last two months. I've really like doing these little face flowers, big and alone, and small ones for card making. The bigger ones make nice magnets.

The one on the heart can be made into a pendant, a magnet, or used in card making.

I love making these hearts and flowers, so I do a lot of those.

This is the big flower face. I think I'm going to put a magnet on the back of this one for my refrigerator.

Good Sunday morning,

This post is featuring my wild, wild west hair doll #2. Her hair is much fuller and longer this time. And even though her hair looks pink, it's actually red.

This is her close-up and featured on my art pictures.

This is a free background, should you wish to snag it.

Here are the steps I used in creating her. I didn't take any pictures of making her face.

In the first picture, you can see her head and the beginning of her making her hair. I used 4 ply red yarn, and divided each small piece apart of the 4-ply yarn. I then bundled those with sets of three, so 12 small plys together to make one hair plug. I tied them together with another small ply and let it blend in with the rest of the hair.

I don't know how many make up her head, but it's approximately 16 to 18 sets of plugs. I wrapped wire around the middle of the plugs, and inserted the wires into her head at intervals.

Then I baked her. The yarn does not burn at all or discolor. I baked her two times to make sure she was done, as she is bigger than my first wild, wild west hair doll.

The second picture shows the front after all her hair was added. I added some shorter ply plugs along the top of her hair line for bangs.

The third picture just shows the back.

Here's her close-up again, without the art work. After she was done, I tied her hair the way I wanted it, and then gave her a haircut. Her painted checks are gloss and pink acrylic mixed together and painted on.

In her hair is a small crown-like item I made from white printing paper. I glued it into her hair with a little E6000.

I used the same glue to attach the pearl strand around her neck. Underneath the pearls is a pink gem and a clay heart that I made with a pink and blue bug resting on it. The heart is red, and has one miniature flower on it.

Her dress is scrap paper I purchased some years ago. It is sparkly and is in light blue and pinks. I shaped this into a cone.

The edging is white and light pink yarn that was twisted together and glued along the edge of her cone dress.

She stands about 4 inches high.

The face took me about one hour to make. The hair took quite a bit longer.

I am very excited about this doll. She was a lot of fun to make, and I've very pleased with the final results.

Hope you enjoyed this little project of mine today.

Enjoy.

Good morning,

Had a little computer problem yesterday, so this is being posted Sunday, but it's my Saturday post.

This is my first Wild, Wild West Hair Doll on a base. She was an experiment in mixing clay with yarn. I really like how she turned out.

Hope your Saturday was wonderful.

While they predicted thunderstorms today, the day was beautiful and sunny. We didn't see dark clouds appearing till much later in the evening. If we got any rain, I must have totally missed it!

Be back shortly with my post for Sunday.

Enjoy!

Good morning,

Continuing on my clay creation progress, plus a few free pngs, today I'm offering another kitty that I did recently.

Being a fan of pinterest, I saw a copy of this little kitty, and made my own version. I always make some changes, so it's not exactly the same. Sometimes, instead of looking at clay creations, I'll look at crochet items and cake toppers and cake decorations to get ideas to try in clay.

Here you see the FREE pngs for you to use in your creating today. They are all on one layer, but using a graphics program, it's easy to use your selection tool to choose the one you want to use. Break each one out and save individually, if you want.

Also spaced so they can be printed out and used physically.

It's Friday!!!

I've been on vacation all week, and spent a lot of time creating.

Tomorrow, I'm offering a look at my a new doll face I've created. Then on Sunday, a second version of the same, yet different doll. I'm so excited about her, I wanted to post her today, but already had this one ready, so I am holding myself back for now. I'll get to her soon enough.

Till then ... have a fabulous Friday!

Good morning!

This is my png post for today.

I saw this little sculpey cat on pinterest, and made my own version. The tail wraps from the back around to the left side and around. In the picture, it looks different, mainly because he's all black and white. It's hard to make out the tail.

He is a sculpey cat from clay, in a cartoon-fashion.

The decorations are items you can use for scrapping, so hope you enjoy them.

Have a great day!

Good morning!

July Fourth is coming very soon; it's just around the corner.

Since it's been awhile for posting, I thought I'd put together this July Fourth Graphic above called LET FREEDOM RING.

It's in png format, and it's free to use for cards and digital scrapbooking. You can also print it out and use it for a physical card or scrap. Enjoy.

Here's another one with a little creature holding his cup of juice, milk, coffee, whatever it is that he is drinking and he's toasting America.

Again, another png, for all your creative needs.

Having been a while since my last post, I went to log-in, and it had me create a new Google+ under Carolyn Hampton. I already have a Google+ under Cj, so this was not what I really wanted to do, so I just left the other one kind of empty.

Maybe I'll use it later for something else.

Then, I came to blogspot to do today's post, and my electricity flickered, and I lost my computer connection. If it's not one, it's another. (This happens way too often, by the way.)

I've been doing some graphics lately, and digital scrapping, but have really been doing a ton of sculpey. I love Pinterest for ideas, and I've recently done over 130 pieces.

Some have been given away as gifts, but others are still sitting on my desk.

I'll feature some of those over the next couple of days.

Until later, have a great day, and I hope you enjoy the free graphics for today.

Good afternoon,

One last post -- due to a recipe for making your own zucchini chips.

One of the items I love to eat on my new diet plan are zucchini chips. Buying them at the store is expensive, so I started looking around for some recipes on how to make my own.

On Pinterest, I found a link to

http://vittlesandbits.blogspot.com/2012/03/baked-zucchini-chips.html. She has posted her method of making them.

I read through some of the comments, but there were too many. Some people had success, while many didn't. I had two zucchini in the fridge about 2 weeks old, and decided to give it a go.

I took the pictures as I went along, so here were the steps I followed. (Pretty much what vittles and bits posted.)

FIRST THING OFF; PREHEAT YOUR OVEN TO ABOUT 225 DEGREES F. I wanted to make sure my oven temperature had reached full throttle to start. (I preheated a little higher and then lowered it when I stuck them in.)

In picture 1: I had to peel off the outside of my first zucchini. It was showing a lot of wear and tear, but the inside was still moist and firm. I sliced the slices very thinly.

My zucchini is really small. I could almost close my thumb and index finger around it. See the second untouched zucchini next to the peeled and sliced one.

2: I laid my zucchini out on a paper towel on my cutting marble. I had thought of this while I was reading the comments of the people who had tried to get them crisp. Later, going back, I discovered that another lady had done the same. What is that? BLOTTING THEM HEAVILY!

3: I laid another paper towel on top and pressed and pressed my hands onto the covered zucchini. A lof of the mositure came through on the top towel.

4: After they were pressed.

5: I laid parchment paper on a pizza pan, and very lightly sprayed my olive oil on it. I sprayed in small, short blasts.

6: I laid each zucchini slice on top of the olive oil sprayed parchment paper.

9: I sliced the second unpeeled zucchini and sliced them a little thicker this time.

10: I lowered the temperature this time, and here are 2 batches coming out. The darker ones on the right were this brown after about 30 minutes. I gobbled those up anyway; not enough salt this time. And too late to resalt the rest.

The ones on the left are crispy, even though they didn't totally brown. I found I had to take them out as they browned, a little at a time. I ate those, too, even though they could've used a touch more salt.

11: I picked up slices and hopefully you can make them out. I wanted you to see their size (I have small hands) But they are totally crispy!! And YUMMY!

12: The rest I removed as they either browned up or were crispy enough.

So ... today, I ate two zucchini! Tears now; they were my last two zucchini, but I hope to stop on the way home from work tomorrow and pick up a few more.

To me, this experiment was totally successful ... and delish!

Because every oven is so different, I just think you have to play around with this to find out how it works for you. And every zucchini is going to be a little different too. Depending on size and the moisture inside, you're going to have to learn to play it by ear. Each time!

But, it's worth it! At least it was for me!

Good luck, and hope you great success should you try making these yourself.

And remember to check out vittles and bits blogspot for her instructions and all the comments. There are so many, I only got about a quarter of the way through them before running off to try it myself.

Enjoy!

Good afternoon,

I'm on a roll! My third post for today is a Mother's Day Card, completely snagable.

I made this a couple of days ago, and meant to post it sooner. But there's still time to grab this picture and use if for the front of your Mother's Day, if you're into making your own. The colors are incredible!

I plan to print a couple of these out smaller and make my cards. The frame is a pink, so I will layer it onto a darker base and have several bases for the front.

If you print them, and make your cards today, you can get them in the mail tomorrow with plenty of time to arrive by next Sunday!

Have a great week, and I hope to post something new tomorrow, before heading off to work.

I'm presently making a huge kit to use, and some of the items will be offered here for free, in png format.

Till then, enjoy the rest of your weekend. I'm off to do the same!

My favorite magazine is Woman's World, as many of you know. And every week, they offer a new diet. I've finally found one I really like, and Dr. Oz thinks it makes a lot of sense.

Me and many of my family members have food allergies. I've always felt a lot of the problem was due to all the engineering they do to our foods now. As soon as I remember it starting, I felt it was going to be trouble. No one can't perfect what God has already created perfectly.

The issue I'm talking about is the April 15, 2013 issue, page 18 and 19. It's called, "Dr.OZ reveals Your hidden fat trigger!"

The picture above is my picture that I took of MY BREAKFAST just THIS MORNING. Of course, I edited in my graphics program. The second picture, also taken by me, is straight out of my camera. That's a 12 oz. glass you're seeing.

The smoothie calls for only a half cup of coconut milk, but for days my thick smoothie would hardly come out of my blender, so I decided to add more to thin it down. I am lactose-intolerant, and was a little unsure of trying coconut silk, but I love it! And I love my morning breakfast now.

The diet also calls for 1/2 cup of grapes, but I've found grabbing a handful is fine for me.

One way to cut food bills is to know what you're going to eat each day. If you can stand to have the same thing for one meal a day, this will truly lower your grocery bill.

You do follow a set menu for 20 days in the full version of the plan, but in the Woman's World version, they put together a quick mini-version lasting only 3 days. I weighed myself each day, and lost 3 pounds.

I made a list of the acceptable foods which were the ones I was eating the first three days. I then was allowed, after the third day, to add one to my menu. I found a plain baked potato did not affect my weight adversely at all. In fact, I dropped another 4 oz. I weigh daily to see how different foods affect me.

If a food doesn't affect my weight, I can it to my skinny list. If it causes weight gain, it goes on my fat list. I can still eat it occasionally, but I know to keep it small and not eat that every day.

To find out more about the diet, find a copy of this Woman's World or buy the book for the full version.

Me, I'm just keeping on with the mini version. I feel so good, and I'm seeing results I like. I am almost never hungry either, which is terrific!

My husband and I also love Chinese food, although I am eliminating soy from my regular diet. But on Saturday, we love to order carryout from a place locally, and on this diet, I've discovered that I can eat it (a smaller version of it though, which is fine), and still drop 2 oz. Wow! I love this diet.

I know that salmon causes me to gain 14 oz. the next day. So, although I love salmon, it's only on my menu 2x a month.

Just thought I'd share this plan with you. Perhaps it will work for you, too.

Have a great day!
Good afternoon!

Shame on me ... for again being so late. Apologies to anyone waiting to see the little handmade sock doll I made for a friend last month.

Above are two handmade sock dolls I made. I found the original idea on pinterest, but I changed her pattern to fit my own needs. I wanted to have little arms off to the side, and this left a tummy in the middle too. (I'll have to see if I can find that pin, as she has the instructions for making the sock dolls already written out.)

The bigger doll is made from a regular girls sock. The smaller doll is made from a ruffly toddlers sock. I like things in mini scale. You know that if you've seen my sculpey's.

I crocheted a little scarf to go around them. On mine, a small purple ribbon adorns her hat, and on the small one, the pink yarn made into a bow for her hat.

Both handmade sock dolls have movable eyes glued on them. The small one is sweet because her eyes have blue lids with lashes too. I forgot to take a picture of her closeup.

As I like to do for all of my creations, I had to tube it and use it in my artwork as well.

And this picture is my finished creation for my artwork.

Since I usually make flowers, I had my sock dolls placed on a stack of them.

I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back shortly to post a little more.

P.S. Due to finances being extremely tight (my husband lost his job), I've had to take down my website at EasyAsPieDailyGraphics.com. It's okay. I had been thinking of taking it down anyway.Cj Hamptonhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/16544906698454433999noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2685565432387168250.post-7563865912646246232013-04-21T07:23:00.001-05:002013-04-21T07:23:31.329-05:00Anniversary Project Up Close

Continued from my previous post: Here is a picture of my little sculpey owl. He was originally made to make into a pin.

Carelessly, I dropped him, and his right wing broke off. I could not find the piece that fell in my office where I do my art. Someday, it will turn up. I had a little blended color from the original project, so I made a new wing, baked it, and glue it on; then glossed it.

The eyes are movable eyes, the kind that move when you shake them. I glue those on after my projects are baked and cooled.

Here is my little sculpey flower I made. I made two of these, and never used them, so I thought I'd add it here. You can see the wired pearls in this closeup.

And last, but not least ... the butterfly was bought at Michaels or Joanne's. They come in a set of two, and I hadn't used either, so dedicated this one for this project. The flower was made from kleenex/tissue paper. I used an ink pad to get the darker rose color on the edges.

That's pretty much it. I didn't show you the butterflies or bling gems. They are standard fare that you pick up for scrapping projects.

I plan to make more of this type of project, but in small sizes. Perhaps for a birthday or other gift. This particular project is about 8.5 x 11 just for the photo. The base extends out beyond that, so it is a fairly large project for me, but perfect for hanging on a wall to show it off.

Saving with thrift store items, such as the nightgown I purchased are cheap and fun to use on projects like this. This was a huge-gal gown, and it has ruffles and lace on it, which I also plan to use. Its wonderful. (I didn't know how big this nightgown was until I got it home, and tried it on. OH MY! It fell right off!)

Hope you enjoyed these projects.

Have a terrific Sunday.

Monday and Tuesday, I hope to post the two gifts I sent out yesterday.

Bye for now.

Keep crafting!
Good morning,

I'm back with another quick post. I have NOT been idle.

This top picture is my digital project for my husband. I showed you this flower pattern in the previous post and offered it as a png.

Here is the first picture I took and edited in my graphics program. I put it on a dark background here, so you could see it better.

I added lots of items to it. A sculpey owl I made is in the upper left corner. A sculpey flower is the lower left corner. There's a butterly at the top, and I left a place for the hole to hang it. I made the paper flower below the top butterfly.

Added throughout the rest of the project are stick-on butterfly, glued bling gems, in different colors.

It was printed on photo paper, so the colors came out great. Not as easy to see that here though.

It is attached to a cardstock paper.

The base is two cutout cereal boxes glued together for firmness. The board was cover 2x with a beautiful pink nightgown that I bought at a thrift store many moons ago. The back of the picture is smooth, with the front being where I glued the fabric, which is hidden by the picture.

I topped off the finished project with wired pearls. They are larger than I normally use for my small projects, but were just right for this one.

All in all, it turned out well, and he was pleased with my efforts. He is very supportive of my art efforts.

Here is the picture again, hanging on my wall. I did use a sticky dot on the back bottom to hold the picture straight on the wall.

It will hang here for a time, until I have another items to take its place.

I took some closeups of different items, but failed to post them originally, so that will be in my next post.

See you in a minute.

Good morning!

It's Sunday morning, and its been awhile since my last post. I'm still been creating though.

The picture this morning is one I call give me flowers or color me flowers. The picture above is a jpg, and it is a flower design I created yesterday.

The big flower was reduced 50% and then 50% more to get the small flowers. On the two small flowers, I added to layer effects to get the changes. I love playing with layers.

The above picture shows the flower big! This is a png, and free for you to snag. Isn't it pretty? Can you find a spot for it your scrapbooking projects?

Another png, this time, making a border out of the big flower which has been reduced. This shows the versatility of using these pngs. You can take them and make additional items with them.

My husband and I just celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary, so next I'll post the wall card I made for him. It is now hanging on our wall in the kitchen/dining room. We celebrated a quiet day. For dinner, we ordered in some Chinese food, which was delicious. We spent the evening watching Netflix movies. All in all; a very good day.

I also sent out 2 packages yesterday. One to my mother-in-law, and one to a friend I correspond with and make little gifts for. She's a widow, and a very kind lady.

I will be taking down my website at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics dot com.

My husband lost his job at the end of March after 12 years with his company. His company fought his unemployment request.

He found a job with a temporary service, so he worked for four days, and then trained on a Sunday for another week-long job, which he just finished. He's starting a permanent placement by the temp service tomorrow morning. Unfortunately, they did not tell him where to go, and he tried to reach them on Saturday.

He will get ready tomorrow for work, and call them until he finds out where he's going. He has a general idea, but they didn't give him the details. He may be a little late, but it is due to the temp agency.

Our income has dropped, so things are a little tight right now; hence letting my website go.

I'll just keep blogging along, which thanks to blogspot, is free.

Take care, and I'll be back with several posts to show you some of the items I've been creating.

Here is my second picture. This one was done on the 27th.

Easter marks the end of March.

Since I last wrote, so much has happened.

My husband lost his job after 15 years with his company. Well, actually, his company was bought several years ago, and everything went well.

But eventually the company that bought him was bought by a larger company.

Last year, he got a new supervisor. This has been a very hard year for him. With each passing day, I felt they were targeting him to get rid of him, and they finally did. They have eliminated many of the old company people, and there is only one left from the original company. I'm sure he'll eventually go, as well.

On the one hand, I am sorry he lost his job. On the other hand, I'm glad he lost his job. They were making him miserable.

My work at home days have changed from Monday and Tuesday to Thursday and Friday. One of my friends in our group, who holds the same position I do, has moved into another group.

I miss her presence, but am very glad for her. She has many years left to work and I only have a few.

Next year, we stand to see two retire in our group, only leaving five. When I go, there will only be four.

I was planning on waiting till I'm 66, but it depends. I might opt to go sooner. I'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

I'm glad to see March end. This month, I've had some nerve pain in my right arm and hand with stiffness in my right shoulder from an accident I had at work in June, 2008. Funny how these things kick up again. Hoping warmer weather tames it down a little.

I went to the eye doctor this month due to some pain in my right eye. My vision is getting old along with the rest of me, and it was time for a long-overdue checkup. After being treated for dry eye for two weeks, I had my eye exam, and I ordered new glasses. The doctor gave me over the counter drops to continue to treat my dry eye condition.

I should be picking my glasses up soon. This week sometime, I'm sure.

I'm due to see my surgeon this next month. Time for my 6 month checkup after my Whipple Surgery last year. After that, it will just be every year.

The world is going kind of crazy right now with North Korea. It's all in God's hands, of course, so I don't worry about it.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Bless my sweet husband. We have a double-car garage, and our doors needed to be replaced. He bought one on Friday, and after he got it in, he went back and bought the other. He got them both up, and working. He did it all, by hisself! Each door weighed 157 pounds. (He is very strong; especially for being an old man.) We opted for insulated, to help keep the basement level warmer.

Take care, love your families, and take peace in knowing, "HE Lives!"

God bless!
