Example of Using Free Graphics To Make Your Own Card

Good morning,

I recently had a birthday card to make for a co-worker, and as I always do, I used my own free graphics. People appreciate them because I took the time to create them myself.

This first picture is the card front. You might notice Trimesa, the character, who is being offered with many expressions over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics.

This picture above, shows a side view and and the inside view.

The sideview shows that Trimesa is put on a baked clay disk to add dimension to the front of the card. This can be done when you are hand-delivering your card. It would cost you extra to mail it.

Inside are more free graphics.

This next above picture is another card to just hold the necklace I created for the birthday girl. Again, I used Trimesa on it, and a tangled-type frame decoration.

The necklace is on a FIMO white effects base. Although it looks a little yellow here, it is white. It has specks of glitter already in the clay, and I might have added glitter glue as a top coat as well.

The little flower is stuck on the top of the tangled card.

The necklace is on a silkie.

This last picture shows Trimesa off to the side. As you can see, I leave a little white around her when I cut her out. This keeps her definition so I don't thin or cut any of those lines away.

This shows the necklace upclose a little bit.

Graphics print nicely on card stock or glossy photo paper.

If you'd like to create your own free cards, just adding the small cost of your own supplies, then head on over to Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, and check out ALL of the free graphics currently up. I will leave them up for as long as possible, but eventually, some of the older ones will come down, to make way for the newer ones.

If you have them already on your own computer, they're ready for use when you need them. Once I take them down ... they're gone. So pick them up, and get creating!

Fantasy Graphics-TimberToes Character

Good morning!

One of my favorite things to do in my creations is create little fantasy creatures. This one was created this morning ... and his name is TimberToes.

I put him in above a box, so the free graphic can be used with any title, quote, picture, etc. that you might want. Color it in. When I use it, it will have a caption something like, "You are so unique!" or "A New Look!", etc.

I've made a bunch of the fanciful creatures over the last two days. I've created Gubby, and also one called TriMesa. She has numerous looks for for eyes, her mouth, and her hats.

Look for these free graphics to be posted around the end of the month.

Reading my Woman's World from 1/9/12, I found it interesting, yet NOT surprising that black is the color to help you lose weight. Stems from a view of spoilage and danger when viewing it ... at least in food. Can you imagine wanting to eat something this color? Not me.

Well. Maybe licorice. I like licorice.

I read in my Woman's World a fascinating fact about black and green tea yesterday. Both are great for building your bones; especially the spine. Now that's wonderful news for me! I'll be drinking a lot more tea!

By the way, we had our first snow in Columbus yesterday, and with a little ice. I had a day off available, so I put in for it Thursday. I spent Friday getting this next week's graphics up over at Easy As Pie.

Monday is Martin Luther King Day, so I have a holiday. Tuesday is my "work from home day", so I don't have to head back out on the roads for work until Wednesday. I just love that!

Color-Popping Beauty for Today

Good morning,

Today's color-popping beauty today could be used any number of ways. Print and cut out the decoration. Make a sticker out of it. Or use the whole thing as a card front.

My work at home day went fine yesterday. In fact, it was tremendously successful, and all the new little tricks I tried worked beautifully.

Today, I head back into the office. My cube mate will work from home today, and then another co-worker will do so on Thurs. We are the only three in a group of seven that wish to work from home.

Do you get the opportunity to work from home?

I love it as it saves wear and tear on my car, on gas at the pump, and travel time as well as getting ready to go each morning. Top that with making my breakfast to eat at work, 2 snacks, and lunch: and well. You've got some serious time saved.

I felt such a sense of exhileration after completing my day. I hope my cube mate enjoys it today. We keep in touch with those in the office even though we are not there, so I'm excited to see how it goes for her.

Clown-ish Notes

Good morning,

I used my clay clown in one of yesterday's post, and here he is again in a "Clown-ish Note". This first picture is left without any pattern fills, so you can add what you want by hand or by computer.

Here he is again, but with some pattern fills. These will be next Tuesday's, 1/15/2012, post on my website.

Our company is promoting "work from home" days now, and today is my first day to work from home. I did it once in the fall while I was doing some computer testing, and had some problems. I had to remain home till it was fixed, which would take some time. But, meanwhile, I was able to do the work I normally do at work, and was given the go-ahead to give it a try.

While I was able to do it, it wasn't totally the results I wanted. This time, I have some new things to try which will make it much better. Wish me luck!

Good morning ... to everyone!

Easy As Pie Daily Graphics is still going strong! If you haven't visited in a while, run on over and check out my free offerings.

The picture above is featured on my website today. You can pick up 2 different base cards, if you're in a hurry to "quick scrap", or download the items separately and print them out and layer them into a card or project. So fun ... easy ... and fast!

There is now a guest book on my today menu page, and if you sign THAT guest book, you will be rightfully thanked for your investment in time signing with a url to 15 additional graphics on a separate page. You can only get there ... with a small amount of effort on your own. Take a minute and go sign the guest book ... and pick up your additional free graphics. And thank you!!!

This next picture above, is just some of the items I offered this week. Most are 50% reduced in size. And remember, this picture is still smaller than what actually posts on my website.

Using the free graphics allows you to throw together a very quick card.

Something new over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, is that I am now posting a week ahead of schedule. You will find everything up through 1/13/12.

During the week, when I get up, I just start creating. I now keep a diary of my daily creations for my own reference. When Saturday rolls around, I open each day and choose which graphics I'd like to offer. There is usually at least 2 graphics, but more often than not, there are three graphics. Occasionally there are more, like on 1/12/12, I had 5 flowers and one deco box -- that's six items.

I put 15 graphics in set 1 that weren't used at all ... and offer that now as my thank you for signing the guest book. By the way, these will change from time to time, and other sets will be offered. The first set will leave, the new one will arrive. So grab these while you can get them.

I start publishing the new week coming up on Saturday mornings. I finish up on Sunday morning. It is almost 8 am, and everything is published, plus this new post for HomeSpun Graphics Blogspot. That's pretty good.

That is a schedule I can live with.

I still need to add additional sculpey items to my website, and do a post for Cjs Clay and Art Scraps Blogspot. I'll work on that next.

I currently have Oct 2011 (the first 1/2 of the month up), all of November, all of December, and all of January to date. After about six months, I will start taking down October.

It's been a wonderful 2011, and 2012 will be even greater!

This year, starting Tuesday, I will allowed to "work from home" for one day a week. I've done it once before, and I am very excited by this new prospect. It will save wear and tear on my car (and me), and money on gas! And working from home will cut down on interruptions at work.

I will miss working with my co-workers, but heck! It's only one day. And it will be so much nicer when we're all in the office together.

Our days will rotate, but we get to pick and choose, although there always needs to be enough people in the office to cover our customer service lines.

Hey! Quick joke: "Why did the clown go to the doctor?"

"He was feeling "a little funny"!

I think that's cute.

New Clay Pendants and a new Blogspot for All My Clay Projects

Good morning!

I've got new items up on my website at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, so go check them out for your scrapbooking needs.

This post today is to introduce to you to my new Blogspot called Cjs Clay and Art Scraps. It features my clay projects with a little art scrapping thrown in. I hope you'll check it out.

The first picture is a pendant I made called Curly Top. Red haired, rosy-cheeked, with lightly browned lips on a child face, set on a dark green heart base with a few white dots thrown in for accents.

She's beautiful.

This second item is called Market Woman. She's in the market place, negotiating for the items she wants, which she is sure to get. She looks polite and ready to haggle. She is unfinished for now, until I decide whether or not to make a pendant out of her.

This third pendant is called Face 1. I didn't give her any other name yet, but she is grand, and one of my personal favorites.

This little clown is not a pendant, and remains unfinished to date. He could be a magnet for a fridge or as an accent on a card. He's very colorful, and he's sitting on a tangled pattern I recently did.

The last pendant is featured on 12/26/11 of Cjs Clay and Art Scraps, and it is a striking pendant. To read more about it, go check out the new blogspot.

Quick Frames for Scrapbooking

Good morning!

It's Black Friday, and I imagine everyone is out shopping ... except me! I hate to shop, and dread starting my Christmas shopping. I love to give gifts; I just hate all the running around and trying to find the right thing.

So Happy Shopping to all you shoppers!

As for me; I think I'll just stay home and ... create!

Today's creation is a type of quick template, without all my writing over it, that can be used by you ... insert a picture where the yellow flower is, and viola! A personalized picture. Add your own words.

I actually created this quick frame for blogger, but I do have another very pretty one posted over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics for 11/25/11. Run over and check it out.

I've started EAPDG blog ... on my website, and today, I shared how I get my inspiration for shading and colors. You might find it an interesting read. And, if you do, why not leave a comment at the end of that particular article. It doesn't post online, but I can add your comments if you wish them to be added. Basically, it just sends me an email, letting me know a comment was made so I can read it.

While I use my graphics for lots of things, I love to use them in my scrapping and scrapbooking. I use them in my cards, in my sculpey, and any way I can think to use them.

Why NOT snag them for your own scrapping projects? Put them in your scrapbook. Cut them out, paste them onto cardboard or thicker papers and add them as decorations to your creations. It's lots of fun!

I really love creating. And one day, when I can finally retire, I hope to be creating FULL TIME.

If you have a frame I've posted that you'd like to have a picture of a loved one in, please write me, and send me the picture. After its created, you will get the jpg back, as well as a word document with the picture posted inside for you to print out on photo paper. It's very easy to do. Frame it; give it as a gift! They're marvelous!

After all, YOU deserve the BEST!

Thanksgiving was wonderful yesterday. We had a lovely meal, and a very restful day. So much to be thankful for. I heard from all 3 of my children; and that is always such a blessing.

One thing I'm thankful for are joyful surprises! On Tuesday, after working way late, then stopping by my daughters, and finally the grocery, I was so tired I could hardly wait to get home.

Bending down to read items on a shelf, a little elderly lady came around the corner. She kind of stopped, and looked at me. All of a sudden, she said, "My! What beautiful hair you have!" Immediately a smile crossed my face, and I gushed, "Thank you!" It was such a little thing, but such a joyful surprise. She'll never know how much she brightened my hard day! "Thank you, whoever you are. It was so thoughtful and kind!"

The next time I notice something extraordinary about someone ... I'm going to tell them. Joy can surprise you when you least expect it!

Good Thanksgiving morning to you all!

While I have been away from blogspot for awhile, I am still creating daily. Sometimes I don't get it on even my website, but I'm happy to announce that all of November is up including today over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics!

The picture above is just a few of the items posted over the last 2 months. October has only a half a month posted.

Halloween came and went.

Now, it's the day to give thanks. Of course, we are thankful every day. There is so much to be thankful for.

It will be a nice, easy day for me. No cooking. But we will still celebrate!

While we are being thankful for all the good in our life, remember to also be greatful for the bad! We learn our lessons from the bad times.

I know when I make a major mistake, I think, "I don't want to do that again!", and I begin planning a way to NOT let it happen again. Solving problems is one of the things I am thankful for. I thank God for the mind he has given me, and all my abilities.

When your cloud is heavy and grey, look for it's silver lining. Balancing out the bad with the good aspects really do help ... and it makes us much happier! Turn your bad memories ... into good ones.

Scrapbooking items to use for your scrapping projects

Card-U R So Invited!

Good morning,

The card for today is: U R So Invited! I still have a lot of MY favorite black and white, but with a burst of color mixed in.

Reading tidbit for today:
As we get older, we tend to get arthritis in our joints. I know this to be true personally.

70% of us can supposedly get relief, just by eating 20 gin-soaked GOLDEN raisins every day for one month; and then just 9 every day after that! Wow! Sounds yummy to me! And fairly easy. Just remember to prepare your raisins ahead of time and store them an air-tight container in the fridge.

Pour gin to just cover raisins. Let soak till the gin evaporates (several weeks), and store.

Time Stands Still ... in lots of areas for me right now

Good morning,

I am off this week, and I am playing with a different creation angle. This design above is for a future birthday card front. It takes a little more time, play, and thought, but I like it.

This is a closeup of the next card front. I don't have a specific use for it yet, but I love how it feels. While I DO love color, I've always been very drawn to black and white and shades in between, and this one just fits the bill for me. I just love it!

And last ... the completed design for this card front. Don't know how I'm using it yet ... but I will use it! How would you show it off?

My drivers for my sound card are gone on my computer! Darn. I had tried to post a video (for family) on my website yesterday, only to find I had no sound. I thought it was my program, but alas, while doing some research today on my drawing endeavors, I tried to view a video; only to find that again! There was no sound. A quick peek from my husband revealed the problem. And, I lost a monitor two days ago, and my husband replaced it with another one he had stored.

I use dual screens at home and at work. It is so much easier to research while working.

Most of this week's weather has been totally blah! Cloudy, rain off and on, and just plain ugh!!! Makes me NOT want to go out.

I'd love some feedback on my new designs! What do you think?

August and September Graphics

Good afternoon,

One more post featuring a few items I've done in the last month and a half. This one is from September and was done yesterday, I believe.

It's a card front.

I still enoy creating my own fantasty cartoons, and here is Frederick; mild mannered Frederick. Good for another card.

This is a Cosmic Blob character named Libby. I've shown you some abbreviated steps in creating her. And then again, Frederick, with bigger feet and a different face. His left hand could be holding a spear.

This final creation is from August, and it's a story creation. This actually happened to me one night on the way home from work. Before I totally forgot about it, I decided to capture the memory in a journal block.

New things-New Perspective: Direction changing!

Good afternoon,

It's been awhile ... I know. I have not kept up with my website, and don't even know at this point whether I will continue with it.

Between work, and all the things I enjoy doing, it gets all kind of over-whelming, and I don't even know how many people really even look at it or use it.

Today's blog is featuring some new things I'm doing. The above frame is very pretty, I think. To see just a few of the items that went into this creation, see the next picture.

This pictures features just a few of the 36 items I created as individual items that I then put together to complete a finished creation, such as the first picture.

Since I've started zentangling, I'm looking at my artwork in a totally new way. I like the road I'm traveling right now. It's a totally new perspective on my idea of creating ... and I'm loving it.

I used another version of this creation in a framework for a 50th wedding anniversary picture I just did for a family member. It's basically the first picture, but a little MORE ... and one done with a black background, and another with a white background.

There's been nothing new posted in over a month at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. Still thinking about the direction I am going.

Until I know more ... I'll be posting here at the blog, and sharing some of my journey. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Cj's Zen Poppers--Inspirationals from Zentangles

Good morning,

I don't know if I've written about this yet; maybe I have. I recently came across a link for www.zentangles.com, and starting reading it. I joined their newsletter.

The term zentangle is coined/owned by Rick and Maria, but it is an artform that has been around a long time.

Reading other sites/forums, I've found that people have been doing this doodle thing but there never was a tradename for it before Maria and Rick. I suggest you check out their site.

Being as I love doodles, and I'm sure you've know, if you read very many of my posts, I like scribble drawing. But this whole concept of all the patterns in a layout has really revved up my creations. I just love it.

The first one featured here was done on 7/22/11. It is recommended that you do one each day, as it's very relaxing.

You can buy a starter kit at zentange.com, but I just use index cards, the smaller size, and a regular ballpoint pen. I use my lighted magnifying light to help me see it really close up. I start my outline just however I feel, and after it is done, I go back and fill it in.

These are hand-drawn, and although my hands are shaky, I am finding that practicing this art form has actually helped me get more control over my tremors.

I have also done these digitally. Since I love doing my own graphics, patterns, etc., I use my own elements that I've created to fill them in. I will post a few of the digital zen poppers next.

If you are looking for patterns to use to fill in with, there is a zentangle pattern site too! There is an alphabetical list of all the pattern names, as well as pictures with them. They show you how to do them, step by step. It is fantastic.

I carry my cards in a ziplock baggie, and take them wherever I go. When I have a free minute, I grab a pen and start coloring one of the pattern outlines in. It's hard to stop once you get started.

This zen popper was done on 7/21/11. I often place another blank index card over the part of the drawing where my hand touches to make sure I don't smear it. I bought a very thin-lined sharpie for detail work, but left the top off, and it dried out. Too expensive to keep replacing those. I'll stick to the standard ball point pen.

This fish was done on 7/13/11. I think you can see the progression of how much my layouts have changed each day.

I have always seen shapes and graphics in clouds, woodwork, floor tiles, and in almost anything, anywhere! And darn! It's really bad now (but in a good way). I am seeing them everywhere. It's good to carry a stack of index cards, so when I see one, I can jot it down for future use.

7/24/11: Glancing back at last week's graphics

Good morning,

I've put many of the graphics I made throughtout the week into this one picture above. These are just some of the graphics that you can pick up over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics.

It was a busy week.

On Friday, I kept batting at a nat that kept flying off my right eye. As I walked with a friend, I finally asked her to look at my right eye and see if it looked okay. She did, and she said, "Yes. It looks fine. Why?"

I told her about the nat. She laughed and said, "Oh! You've got a floater!"

"A what???", I asked. "What is that?"

She explained that it's some dirt that get into the eye fluid and causes you to see floating dot/s. I had never heard of such a thing.

Luckily, it doesn't bother me much indoors because there's so many colors. But go outside into the sunshine, and there's that nat buzzing around my right eye. Ugh! I hate it.

My husband has said that he has had them, and he said that they go away. I need to do a little research, because everyone else said, "Nope. There's nothing you can do for them. They aren't noticeable over time; you get used to them."

I've really been into black and white graphics lately as well as black and white pendants and earrings. Black and white just are so grabbing. Many people really notice the black and white jewelry.

We had rain this morning. Thunder, lightning, and a pretty hard rain. It's been several days, so it was a good thing. My garden loves it, and I don't have to water it or the flowers when we have rain.

This is the sculpey pendant and earring set I made for Kathy's birthday. I just love black and white, and it goes with almost anything. I hope you get many hours of fun out of wearing my gift.

And here is the quick little card I did for Kathy using Poor Baby 11-0716-12b. In the previous post, he was only in black and white outlines. I like to leave many of my graphics like that so you can print them and color them with colors you prefer.

P.S. Yesterday, I had a blast from my past. Hi, Joann! I was cleaning out my spam box in my email and ran across an old friend's email sent to me back in January of this year. I was so tickled to read it ... and quickly responded. Being as it had been so long since she sent it, I wasn't sure how quick a reply I would get. I included my cell phone number ... and she called me. I had a wonderful chat with her for about 20-30 minutes. She is currently away, but when she returns, we will have a lunch together!

Good morning, again.

I find weekends to be the best time for me to post, as I have more free time then. But, I'm trying to get you caught up on everything that's over at my website since I last posted.

This first item is a Bow Frame or Journal Box. It would fit well on a girl baby birth announcement card! It's posted on 7/15/11.

This second art graphic is called Flower Frame, posted on 7/16/11. I love the design of it. What do you think?

And again last ... there always has to be a last -- but not least, is one of my characters from a series I call "Poor Baby". This one is 11-0716-12b. I used him on a birthday card for my daughter-in-law, Kathy, whose birthday is TODAY! Happy birthday, Kathy! (I'll feature the card in the next post, along with a picture of her birthday gift that I made just for her. She's such a striking gal!)

July Pendants: Nine to see ... a glimpse of some in the making

Good morning,

July is here ... and I have 9 July pendants up. I have my favs, of course.

In the picture above, there are 4 views.

The top picture is just a decoration. The view to the right is 11-07--0009. The lower left view is all nine of the July pendants, to date, in a Laughing Cow container. It stores them so nicely.

The bottom right view is some stones that are ready to be placed into a pendant. You would not believe the number of stones (out of clay) that I've already created. That is my favorite part of the creating process.

I still have tons of unbaked items, sitting on my desk on little index cards. I bake them on the index cards.

Each stone will go through 2-3 bakes. I put aluminum foil over the baking clay pendants to keep them from scorching.

Like my graphics, I get hours and hours of fun from doing this type of creating. The time just gets away from me. I can easily put in 8 to 12 hours doing these activities, so my weekends go so fast.

People notice the pendants wherever I go. Many people have said, "You need to sell them." I am looking to start a small business doing just that, and if I have enough interest, I will definitely start that. That may be before the end of this year. Maybe sooner. I am getting my inventory together now, so I'll have something to offer when I do that.

Pendants of June: 0014 thru 0017

Good morning,

Almost through the set of pendants I created for June.

My favorite in this set is 0016. It is wire wrapped, which I learned to do from a video online. It was much easier to do than I thought it would be, although it did take some patience. I love the transparency nature this one has, although 0014 and 0015 also have this feature.

The picture on 0015 is not as good. It is for my granddaughter, as this is the one she fell in love with. My daughter also like it.

Pendant 0017 was another wire wrap that holds the created pendant firmly in place. A little more rustic, but I do like the colors together: Purple, orange, yellow and green.

One more set, and that will wrap up June 2011.

Third set of June Pendants: 0010 thru 0013

Good morning!

Another set of June's Pendants. I took these pictures with my picture phone, as I found it actually took better "smaller, detailed" pictures than my Canon PowerShot SX100 IS.

Pendant 0010 is too delicate to actually wear due to the attenna of the butterfly, but it would be beautiful on a small ribbon, hanging on the edge of a baby frame as decoration. It is adorable.

Out of this set, I'm particularly fond of 0011 and 0013. 0011 has just a simple wire for it's bail while the others are beaded. 0012 and 0013 have different types of ribbon, but that can be swapped out for other types of ribbons.

0011 thru 0013 were created several years ago, but were sticky. I had not baked them long enough. I rebaked them after adding some new designs to each. Each pendant has a high glossed finish.

June's Clay Pendants:0005 thru 0009

Hello!

Another set of pendants created for June.

Pendant 0006 was given to a co-worker. She wore it almost every day last week as she dearly loved it. "It's so smooth", she declares. She loves the feel of it as well as the fact that is extremely light.

When I first started creating with Sculpey clay, I had many of my beginning creations TURN STICKY. I learned over the years, I wasn't firing them long enough. Pendants are fairly small, and when they come out of the oven, they should feel very light. I have been able to fix the stickyness of older items made simply by rebaking them. I let them cool completely, and then glaze with a high finish.

Some people like small pendants; and others like bigger pendants. My daughter tends to like bigger items.

I love all of these; but I'd have to say that 0005 is my favorite. Both 0005 and 0007 have a very nice transparency in them. All of these have beaded wire bails.

They're pretty!

Pretty pendants for June 2011: 0001 thru 0004

Good morning, again!

I know I am doing less in graphics lately. In fact, I pretty much skipped the month of June. I just needed a rest. I've simplied what I'm doing to some degree.

I am spending most of my time creating and designing clay pendants.

Above, you can see 11-06--0001 through 0004. All four of these have coordinating beads on their bail (or wire used to attach to chain or ribbon). 0001 reminds me of a field of flowers. I love 0002 and 0004. 0003 took a along time to create. It's a bird flying.

Altogether, I have 19 pendants for June on Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. I will post other pictures, as I think they are so pretty. I often give the pendants as gifts. I'm sure I've shown you pictures of pendants that I've sent to my daughters-in-law. My daughter has a few now, too, as well as my granddaughter. Several people at work have some pendants, too.

Some are smooth the feel: 0002 and 0004. 0001 and 0003 are textured when felt.

Patterns in Flowers

Good morning,

A patterned flower can add interest and texture to your graphics.

Today, I am offering the settings I used to achieve this patterned flower. To see more, just head over to Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. It's in 7/3/11's menu.

From the menu page of daily graphics, you just click each day and it opens. Simply click it closed, as each day opens in it's own window, but the menu page remains open. It's a simple and fast way to view the days without having to maneuver back or forward. Easier for me, too!

Here is a smaller picture of all 3 flowers finished, and the pattern that was used in the upper left picture. The lower right shows a pattern I'd created already and the flower merged together (left). The picture to the right of it, is fthe final pattern, and then the settings below them both. It's bigger on EAPDG.

I do use Paint Shop Pro, vs. 9, but I'm sure the ideas are pretty much the same in other programs.

Hope you find this useful in your creations. I also tell you in today's sharing, how to put the pattern in the flowers.

Camp News Teaser / Postcard for Little Campers

Easy As Pie Daily Graphics -- See the steps to finished creations

Good afternoon --

I am on vacation this week! And time off always leads to looking at new ways to promote my site, Easy As Pie Daily Graphics.

Bye, bye ... to the 3 free graphics of the day. Instead, a new approach.

Exercise your own creative bone by seeing some of the ways I come up with my original graphics.

The site has a fairly new look, although some old pages have been left up.

On this Monday, what I have is a "kind of tutorial", showing my step by step creation process.

As you can see from the picture above, a few steps can take you a long way.

This is kalei woman 10. She is a creation I would use.
But this is kalei woman 9, and she is my favorite -- out of the two.

She is noseless for now, but that would be a simple step ... when I have a use for her.

Hope you'll run over and take a look around at the new site. Let me know what you think.

On Thursday, I will be celebrating my 61st birthday; hence the vacation week. I started the tradition last year, and it was so wonderful, that I decided to do it again this year.

I came home sick after 2 1/2 hours work on Thursday. I had a fall a couple of weeks ago, and now my left knee has been "kickin' up a little pain". It was a slow day on Thursday, so I took some sick time. Unfortunately, I was having some back pain from changing my gait, which accelerated on Friday. I spent the day in bed.

I've also found that laying on our new couch is not good for my body. It is not completely flat, and when I lie down, it throws my knees out of alignment. I woke up after a nap yesterday, only to have stiff, painful knees again. It was truly an "ah-ha" moment.

We had a lovely, 2 hour visit, on Father's Day -- yesterday, at my daughters. All fathers were present, or at least the important ones ... and my son and Kathy were there also. It was a wonderful visit as we watched Emma walk around the room and be cute and funny. My oldest granddaughter made a tent in the loft, and we took turns going up to investigate it and sit in it with her. Good job, Taylor.

Daily Musings

Sculpey Dolphin Gift

Good afternoon --

One last post. I really wish this picture came out better. It doesn't show how truly elegant it is and sparkly.

The dolphin is a lovely shade of blue and it's side fins are lighter than the body. I connected the jumping dolphin with a thin wire to the island below. One blue sparkle flower is on the left, and a pink one on the right. It had some tiny pink cut glass items on the island, and a pearl resting off to the back on the left.

I was very happy with the finished product, and everyone was very enthusiastic when they saw it.

I took it over and gave it to Kristi on Friday. She is graduating from high school ... and is off to college this fall.

Congratulations, Kristi! To your continued education and success!

Recap of May, 2011

Good afternoon,

There are tons of things over on my website, so hurry on over and check them out.

I just did this picture for my blog. I love pinks and grays together!

I just wanted to use this post to recap some of this month.

The weather -- alas, has been mostly rainy. Usually through the week. We had about 4 or 5 beautiful days together, and it was beautiful yesterday, and so far; it's beautiful today. Other than that; we've had a real record number of days of rain ... and more rain.

My youngest granddaughter, Emma, has begun walking. I guess it was last weekend. And she's said her first sentence: "Hi, daddy."

My oldest granddaughter is growing like a weed, and is having a ball playing with neighborhood friends, and riding her bike. She is beautiful ... as always, and last weekend, we got to have a spend the night!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day this year!

And Emma is due to turn 1 at the end of this month: next weekend! Still have shopping to do.

I took a tumble on Friday while visiting with my daughter, and we went out walking with the babies. I somehow stepped on the edge of the sidewalk ... and down I went; taking off a good layer of skin on the inside of my right elbow, the outside of my right wrist, cracking my right knee on the sidewalk and twisting my left ankle. As always, it happens so fast ... and then it's over.

Blood oozed from my elbow mostly and stung like the dickens! My right knee began to throb and swell ... and at first, I was afraid to get up. Several neighbors were out, and one delightful gentleman came to my rescue. He happily got me into his luxurious car, blood and all, and drove me back to my daughter's house several streets away. He suggested I might want to head over to UrgentCare, but upon resting, decided I was okay.

I'm doing much better today. Not stiff and achy, like yesterday.

I've been busy sculpeying with my clay, and I've made a lot of items.

I have a coworker-friend, whose daughter, Kristi, is graduating from high school. Their party is today. I made her card, and sculpted her a dolphin leaping over a small little island. I will post it in another post. I dropped it off to her on Friday before going to my daughters. Congrats, Kristi! Thanks for the party invite, too!

My husband has been treating our lawn for weeds, and it is looking much better. He cut the grass yesterday, and I managed to hobble outside and pull the weeds in my garden. It is now ready for vegetables, which I plan to go buy shortly. I will get them in the ground today.

My sister had surgery on the 9th. I need to call her to see how she's doing.

I am counting down to a week's vacation ... coming up the week of the 20th of June! Yeah!

In February, I sent a letter contesting my property taxes. They were charging me about $30 thousand more than the bank had my house valued at. They rejected my letter/case. And then, about 3 weeks later, I get a certified letter from them, which took me 2 days to get from the post office (I went to pick up 2x) ... and found out I had a hearing last Wednesday at 3:15 p.m.

I managed to hire a licensed appraiser to do an external appraisal of my home and property, and found out that my property has continued to fall. It is $21 thousand lower than what my bank says, and a whopping $51 thousand below what the county was charging me in taxes!!! Can you believe that!???

I went to the hearing with my appraisal, and am again ... waiting on a another certified letter! This should really cause my house payment to go down.

Times are bad.

It seems that 800,000 people in Franklin county contested their property taxes. This is a record number. After I sent the original letter, the county dropped my taxes 2%, but that hardly is a drop in the bucket. I hope I don't have to seek legal recourse, but if I have to do that, I will.

Unexpected Offerings -- Easter 2011

I'm starting off with a picture of this delicious "sweet potato" pie that Lillie, my mother-in-law, made for Ray and me. He brought it home with him, after his son's funeral, and week's long visit with his family.

It was absolutely delicious, Lillie! And ever so beautiful!!! Thank you!

This was the card I made for Lillie for Mother's Day. It's the outside of the card. Lillie has always been an excellent mother (in-law), and I do so appreciate her! I love you, Lillie!

This is the inside, with a necklace I made to adorn her beautiful neck.

This is a closeup of the necklace. I know she dresses up, and I hope this will help the color pop in one of her elegant outfits!

One Last Tribute: Ramon Jackson

Good morning,

It has been a long month, and it's almost over. I've been super busy ... and while my website is going up, and has been ahead of schedule, I haven't gotten over to my blog to post. I apologize.

Today's offering is the tribute cover to my husband's son, Ramon, upon his passing. As you can see, he is young. He suffered most of his life -- in and out of hospitals.

I didn't know Ramon very well. I met in back in about 2000, and we spent the afternoon with him. We took him to dinner.

My husband didn't know about him until he was about 15 or 16 years old. He did get to know his father some over the last decade, and also got to know his father's family pretty well. Everyone was blessed to have him in their lives for the short time they did.

Whoever designed the cover of his eulogy did a great job. He was a handsome lad.

You may be gone, Ramon; but you'll live on ... in the hearts that knew and loved you!

Easter Celebration and Free Graphics For Scrapping Your Memories

Good morning to you all!

Today's creation is one featuring myself ... and my adorable granddaughter, in a joint art project on Easter Sunday. Her mother took this picture (thanks, sweetheart), and I took it and put it in a scrap (or could be a card front) using a few of the items that are featured on my website. Head on over to Easy As Pie Daily Graphics to pick up any of the free graphics you'd like to use to embellish your own creations!

As you can see, we went together on an art project. My granddaughter loves using water colors on canvas, and one of her favorite things is to sprinkle it with salt. As it dissolves, it adds texture and design, and really makes it pop. It is so pretty.

I'd never done this, so she was teaching me! It was so much fun ... and she is an excellent teacher.

My half of the creation is along the border that I am holding, and hers is along the right.

I spent Easter with my daughter's family. My husband was in his hometown, as his son's funeral was on Monday. It gave him a chance to see his wonderful family, and really hunker down for a long week's visit. He stayed with his mom, and I'm sure she thoroughly enjoyed it.

As I needed to be at work, and couldn't take a full week off (plus 2 airline tickets are quite expensive), I stayed behind. My husband was cool with this.

My daughter made a wonderful Weight Watcher's dish. I loved it so much, she gave me the recipe, and I came home and cooked up a batch to take to work all week. Ahhh! It is so delicious.

I hope your Easter was as grand and enjoyable as mine was. (Thank you -- to my family!)

Friday Morning FREE graphics

Good morning,

Today's graphics, pictured above is a gift tag, has all the elements above for you to create with. They are in jpgs.

These graphics were offered on Thursday. I made it into a card for Ramon, my husband's son, who passed away on Tuesday at 2:30 pm. My husband so wanted to get there to see Ramon before he died. The doctor thought he had a week, and had he had the full week, they would have been reunited.

But God has His own ways ... and it was NOT meant to be. The funeral is on Monday. I wish the survivors peace. Ramon's struggles are over, and he can rest in peace now.

While my husband is visiting with his family outside our state, I was visiting with my girls yesterday. My little 10 1/2 month old, almost 11 months now, is practicing standing and clapping. She is so adorable, and loves to see me when I visit.

My older granddaughter is still a delight to me. The four of us went for a long, long walk yesterday because the sun was shining, and it was a fairly beautiful day. There was a cool breeze, but we had a wonderful time walking, as my granddaughters rode. One on her bike, and one in her stroller.

One beautiful day is all we're supposed to get this week: yesterday. Before it was rain, and following it is rain. We have had MORE THAN ENOUGH rain this spring!

If you're heading off to church today ... have a great time. I know my daughter's family is going.

And I will spend Easter with my daughter and her wonderful family this year! And my husband will be spending time with his family! (Have fun, sweetie!)

Good morning,

I've been busily making cards this last weekend. I made about 6-8 cards, and I'm always making more.

Today, at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, I have this card's items available. See picture above for the card front. Print onto the cardstock of your choice, leaving room for the back of the card, and decorate as you wish. I love the colors of this card.

This little deco decorates the center of the card -- or you can leave it off and use it on the inside. This shows the deco in it's larger size, but it comes two sizes. The larger size and the small size.

I now have nineteen (19) days of graphics up: at least 3 new graphics each day. Head on over to pick them up.

We had several beautiful days in a row: yahoo! This week, they predicted rain for every day but Thursday. We were blessed, because it started yesterday, but we managed to squeeze in one more fairly pretty day - except for the powerful breeze.

Hope this is a good week for you.

Personally, my husband has a son in the hospital. He's 32. He is on dialysis, but his liver is failing. My husband will take this week to go visit him in his final days. He'll leave mid week, and come back mid week next week. It is ... a sad time.

Oh Spring! Where ART thou???

Good morning,

Today's creation expresses my frustration with the idea that, officially, it is spring, but the days keep taking one step forward and two steps back.

Last week, we had some beautiful spring weather, and then we had snow ... right in the middle of it! It's like it can't make up its mind.

Around us, we have flowering white trees, and small trees are bursting with that fresh green color of small, lime-green leaves exploding forth.

Yesterday, it rained ... and rained ... and rained, and the temperatures dropped again.

Walking from the parking lot into work each morning can be maddening. It's beautiful on the trek in, and miserable on the journey out!

The weather in my fair city used to be so wonderful! A hard snow winter about every 4 to 6 years, but the last 3 or 4 have been icy, snowy, and slippery. Everybody is talking about the change.

So the colors in my pictures are my yearnings for color ... for brightness and feeling cheerful. And the darkness is for the winter that continues to put out it's hand, and try to snatch it all away!

Spring days may come, but they will quickly yield to the hot, hot of summer days, which pleases many. I don't necessarily like hot hot ... but would love to feel the freshness of spring ... for just a little while before the heat of dog day afternoons.

I heard one person in the elevator yesterday, say, "I put the flowers out ... I take them back in! It just can't seem to make up its mind what to do out!"

Oh well. What are you going to do?

Good morning,

These are a few items that are posted over at my website this month.

Most are from this coming week. I've gone back to featuring jpgs, although there are 2 png kits up. Png kits take so much time, so unless I know people are using them, I'm not posting as many as I did.

This last week has been hectic for me, as I am a federal worker, and was staring down at the government shutdown if the budget didn't pass. I'm sure those in Congress felt they were the heros of the day ... finally getting around to passing LAST YEAR's BUDGET!!! I don't think so.

I work with deadlines, and I'm sure you do, too! I don't get paid the amount of money that most articles say government workers get ... NOT by a long shot.

Years ago, when I was laid off from my last job, I started with the government and made several thousand dollars less than I had been making. What increases we get are modest, and having come from the private sector, am very grateful for them. Our benefits cost us more and more every year ... just like yours do.

My particular company has been following the private sector view over the last 5 years. They've been down-sizing our positions each year, and over the next year (it started last year) ... there is a BIG PUSH to cut our budget.

Over all, I love my job. It's not difficult, and we do have deadlines. Coming from the private sector, I give my all at my position.

I could tell you stories about government workers ... but I won't. There are MANY, good, and hard-working people working here ... and I try to focus on the positive.

Basically ... I hate politics ... and politicians.

Now there is government waste: all the money they get, and being able to vote for your own raise! C'mon! That is ludicrous.

And were they going to shut down when the rest of the government did? And are they going to take a pay cut and lose their "royal" benefits? I think not.

The only way I see to change our future is to vote every single one of them out of office, and replace them with new people. Then follow those people and their voting records ... and keep replacing them when their term is over until we get some people who understand balancing the budget, and for running a government of the people, for the people and by the people.

I'd be looking for people that are NOT power and money hungry ... sitting their b____ in their chairs year after year after year! I'd want people who are looking to make America great again.

Someone that knows how to give the job market a shot in the arm, so everyone is working and providing for their families again. Someone who knows what "illegal" means! And someone that is NOT breaking the laws -- only to get a slap on the wrist ... or "he forgot" scenerios.

Okay! I'm done ranting.

Good morning,

It is almost the end of March, and the final graphics are all up at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. At least until Friday. So grab what you want today or no later than tomorrow.

These are some of the items from each day from the 25th to the 31st.

It's been a busy weekend and week. My granddaughter is having spring break in TN with her dad, and we all miss her, as usual, when she's gone.

My weight watcher's life change is going well. I am continuing to drop the pounds. Ahhh! This is so nice -- and easy, too!

My newest granddaughter is learning new things. She loves Cheerio's now, mostly for texture, but loves it when she gets one in her mouth, too. My daughter texted me yesterday that she is experimenting with standing and clapping. Whoa! That is fantastic.

She also is playing around with going from sitting to laying, rolling over, and back up. She gets in the crawl position, but has not yet figured out what to do with this new position. She'll get it.

It's so exciting, getting these texts.

I will visit on Friday, as I usually do. I will miss seeing my oldest granddaughter this week. But, I'm sure she's having some fun times, and hopefully, she's not too homesick.

Free Paper Downloads -- Yeah! A broccoli recipe, too!

Hello,

Two days of papers. These are very pretty, and I hope you'll find a great use for them. Each kit has 5 graphics, but there is a bonus paper in each day's download -- so enjoy!

Well ... there you have it. I am AHEAD for the week. I already have creations for additional days.

I love the creating part. I just sit down ... and do it. The hardest part is making the png kits. The psp download is fine, as it's done in layers and if opened in your graphics program ... everything is there.

Yesterday was a broccoli day for me.

Have you ever just craved something (food)? A good, low-calorie way to enjoy fresh broccoli is this. Cut flowerets from stalk, and chopped most of the stalk as well. Add enough water to cover the bottom of your pan with about 1/2 t of dried chicken bouillon. (You can use prepared also). Bring to a low boil, cover and simmer just till tender and that bright green color. Remove from heat.

Squirt some lemon juice over it ... to taste ... salt gently and pepper. Mix and eat! Oh yum! This is my favorite way to eat fresh broccoli. Give it a try! It's heavenly.

Framing Flowers - Free Frames and Beautiful Elements

Hi there!

I just love this kit.

Recently, I've been working on my lap top, which is great, but then I have to get it to my main computer. Thank heavens for memory sticks.

Lots of decos to grab.

Off the subject of art ... but on the subject of shopping ... do you know the least busy day at the grocery store? It's Wednesday!

And speaking of least busy; there are times I need a quick meal. I'm following Weight Watchers, as I've posted previously. I've lost almost 10 pounds (and a great deal in inches); although it's been very, very slow.

A good quick, tasty treat for a fast meal:

1 tortillas wrap (I used La Banderita Flour tortillas: 3 pts; 1/4 c low-moisture, part-skim Mozzarella cheese; 2 pts, and 1 T of Picante sauce; 0 pts. For 5 points; quite a tasty meal. And if I am not full; add a salad or an apple for 0 points! Yeah!

Good morning!

And thank you -- Kenney -- for doing this fantastic gift for me! This touched my heart more than you'll ever know!

I went to work yesterday ... and sitting on my desk was this adorable little CD clock! It sits in it's own little black frame holder and is just so elegant looking.

I knew who did it! Kenney!

Kenney is always doing something special for someone. Taking a photo and printing it out large and giving it to the appropriate person!

At work, he took one of my flower designs from my website -- many years ago, and made a CD clock that hangs on my bulletin board. I was always saying I couldn't see the clock for our room, and he fixed it for me: he made me one; using my artwork! Now ... that is thoughtful!

On Friday, he had asked me for a copy of my Empathy Fairie, and I sent it to him Sunday morning. Lo and behold ... HIS ARTISTY took my creation and turned it into the most marvelous gift. (He does gorgeous work!)

He said this clock is for my desk at home. I almost hated to bring them home as I couldn't show the gifts off to all our co-workers ... but I do love them! I had several people come to my desk so I could show them ... and stopped Mary on the way out to show her. She thought they were beautiful. (Of course they are. Kenney made them!)

Together, he and I have worked on projects for several people in our division. We make a pretty awesome team!

This picture is done very large. I estimate it to be 11 x 14, and he framed it. This picture does not do it justice ... as I took it early, early this morning and I just didn't have enough light. I had to edit it as best I could for now, but when I get better light ... I will repost it!

This is the first time, I've ever had my artwork hanging in my home. It is hanging on the wall as you come up our stairs into our living area. As my husband says, "It's the first thing you see upon entering our home." He loved it, too!

I have a little surprise for you this morning, as well, Kenney.

Thank you ... for making something for me that I will treasure all my life! I know it took time and cost ... but I appreciate your talents and thoughtfulness so much!

Good morning,

We are into March! Here are the kits for the first 4 days.

This kit has 3 quick frames and plenty of room to accessorize or journal. Also lots of small borders to play with.

I like to do some unusual things, and this frame is one of those. But I like it.

I am posting more days at one time which fits my schedule a little better.

I wanted to post this morning, since it is Sunday morning, that I've reached my first goal in Weight Watchers. Actually I lost an additional pound than my goal was set for. It has been 6 weeks of slow, slow, slow loss, but I've been okay with that. And I'm watching the inches go, go, go down!

I actually love the program. I don't mind writing everything down, as it really helps keep your mind on what is going inside. Even my hands look longer, thinner, and taper nicely. I never realized how pretty they are.

Am I happy? Oh yes!

I was reading my newest Woman's World, and was fascinated to find there is still free TV. Many are going back to the new attennas (rabbit ears) that cost about $24 and picking up the over-the air high-defintion channels... and getting as many as 80 different selections in some areas.

That's nice to know, since I'll retire within the next decade.

You'll notice there's a change at my website. The kit pages just have the kits on them now. I gave my granddaughter a page to put her artwork on, one for my little furry hamster, Betzy, and my credits and tou are now on their own page, as well. This leave more room for just the kits, and I like it. What are your thoughts?

Good morning,

This first item above is a birthday card. We had a lot of birthdays at work this last week, and had a party to celebrate them all. This is one of the cards I did for a belated birthday. I like to put together a sandwich baggie with a card in it, do a little sculpey item, and a minature candy bar. I had been out shopping, and picked up some trinket party toys for kids parties, thinking they would add amusement to the baggies. They did.

All the trinkets came in sets of 4: a skateboard with rider, balls filled with a gel and colored glitters, some tiny little colorful notebooks, some little maze toys, and little foam airplanes. Everyone was very happy with their little baggies.

Many of the cards featured FAMOUS BIRTHDAYS, so each person would know who else shared their birthday. These went over in a big way. They loved them.

Here's a bigger picture of the first birthday card. It was so much fun to make. And Rebecca loved it.

This item is something I made from a kit featured in the previous post. This is the colored bold lined flower.

And the flower ... one more time.

Good Morning ...

This morning's kit over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, is 3 Little Creepers. Creepers are tiny little madeup fantasy creatures, and they are great for putting on the edge or ends of things. Above is "Toothy" creeper, "Kingy" creeper, and finally, "Singing" creeper. They're doo-dads!

I really wanted to share this little "Goth" creeper, but he's not a digital graphic ... he's a sculpey creation. In this picture, he is standing next to one of my necklaces. I made this necklace several weeks ago, and I've been wearing it several days throughout the week. I love the colors, and it goes great with one of my shirts I wear.

The little "goth" creeper is just a fun little thing I made. Not a necklace, but fun.

Finally, this kit was for yesterday, Saturday.

There are 2 tubes in this kit, meaning I did not create the items, but used photographs I took of the items to tube. They were my Valentine's Day gifts on Monday, and I just loved getting them.

Nice pictures, and a very well-written journal of their visit and stay in this colorful, robust, jumping city. My son and she both love Las Vegas, and would love to move there.

As for myself, I went to Las Vegas on my honeymoon. The thing that enthralled me was driving in, and being able to see the strip before we actually got there. The scenery out there is just beautiful. And I loved seeing the sites leading the way.

The only part that I did not like was crossing all that desert! It is really sparse out there, if you're driving. I wouldn't care to drive it again. I'm sure flying in is absolutely gorgeous.

We did enjoy seeing the dam, Lake Meade, and the Grand Canyon on that trip though!

Fun, Free Graphics For the Frugal Scrapper--Get Digital

Good morning,

My weekly post for all you frugal scrappers out there that want fun, free graphics-- digitally! Whoa! That's a real mouth-ful.

Scrapping digital is easy. Everything is on your computer, and right at hand. You can use items over and over; they never run out! And it's just plain FUN! You can see each title of the kit. Some are NOT named, but the date tells you which kit it is.

This was the last of the series on the Butterfly kit which ran several day. Each day had it's own name.

Another butterfly motivated kit, with lots to use all together.

And I threw a lacey heart, I know, I know ... it's black, but it has some red in it. And it's pretty!

When you look at each of most of the kits I've talked about today, you can see you have quite a lot to choose from.

Easy As Pie Daily Graphics will probably start publishing 2 to 3 times a week instead of daily. But when it's published, you will find at least 3 free graphics in each kit. If you're downloading the kits, you can pick them all at one time.

Ok. I'm caught back up on my posts.

This first, above, is featured on today's website ... and it's adorable. The bee and the sexy heart are from years gone by, but they are fun to trot out and feature again. And, it's a chance to pick them up as pngs! Or psp tubes! And they are free!

Here's my lounging bee again, and he's featured also in quick art!. This kit had 3 quick art frames to just grab and use. No muss; no fuss. Ready to go art!

Since lounging bee is featured as a png/psp in a previous day's kit, he's not in this kit except in the quick art (#2). But the heartman is featured as a png and psp in this quick art kit.

Lots of new additions this week.

My granddaughter stayed last weekend, and this weekend, she's enjoying having a friend over to spend Friday night with her.

My youngest granddaughter, picked up her bottle off the kitchen table and tried to put it in her mouth when I was visiting on Friday. It was the first time, and it was wonderful to be there to observe her.

I am still doing Weight Watchers, and the weight is coming down very slowly. I've only lost 4.2 pounds, and it's been a month; but I've lost lots of inches, and I'm feeling great. This is a very livable eating plan for me. I will stick with it.

At work, I was moved from my current desk to a new desk across the aisle and slightly back from my old desk. I am now out of the draft of it; and out of the 3 degree temperature drop from other desks around me. You see, the air conditioning is still on all winter. I've been in this desk for 2 years, and it runs all year round.

My temperature at my desk is 68.8 degrees with a steady draft. It is always blowing, and causes my feather pen to move. It hits me directly headon, and flows down my body to even my thighs under my desk. I was frigidly cold.

For the first 2 years, it wasn't so bad, but when I came back at the beginning of the year, they had somehow redirectly the air flow. Not only was I cold, but everyone in our little department was complaining, and no one could understand how I was sitting where I was. No one elects to stand very long at my desk! And they always comment on it.

My daughter turned a year older this week. My sister did the same a week before my daughter.

In Columbus this last week, I saw gas prices rise. In the past they were at $2.89 on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, and they'd start to climb on Thursday, making their way up to over $3 by Saturday. But I noticed this past Monday or Tuesday, that they are starting their week over the $3 mark now, and the prices are up again this weekend. Drat!

On the other hand, last night on tv, I watched a commercial to get new rugs installed for only $0.79 (a square ft, I think) on new carpeting from Rite Rug. They touted the lowest prices in 75 or 79 years; and I have to agree with them. Never heard them advertise that low.

On Tuesday, I came home to find my husband home early, but no car. As I got out of the car, he said, "Stop! You need to take me to the doctor!"

Seems he had an accident, and his car is totaled. We spent almost 3 and 1/2 hours downtown at Grant Hospital while he got checked out. He's fine, but they wanted him to take a couple of days off as he was bound to be more sore.

He went back to work on Friday, and now he's driving a rental. Don't know yet whether his company is buying him a newer car to drive or whether he'll have to get one to drive and get reimbursed. Stay tuned.

This last week was one of the busiest weeks I've had in many years. That is why I had such trouble getting my graphics done each day and up. I had so much to get done this weekend. Hope I don't ever have another week like last week.

And because I got to bed late on Tuesday night, after being at the hospital, I over-slept 2 days in a row, trying to get caught up. Yikes!

Work has been busier, with new plans to go completely as paperless as we can, and my move this week to my new desk. By the way; I do love my new location. While it is still cold in our department, the draft is much less. I can live with this. You just have to dress in layers.

I'm praying for a quick spring. I am so done with snow, cold, ice, and wind! I am ready for some sunshine, flowers, and warm air! Aren't you?

Good morning a second time ...

These are 2 little butterflies that I put together with a combination of digi-art and sculpey. They are small, and so very cute to adorn the front of a card. These are so much fun to make. The second one, was my first experiment, and his left wing smudged, so it was good as an experiment. The top butterfly was next; much better. I designed the paper for her wings.

Good Tuesday morning to you all,

So frustrating! Had my post already to go, and it would not take it. Unfortunately, I copied and pasted what I had on my webpage, and it said someone else was using it. Yeah! Me! Same person.

We were supposed to wake up this morning to an ice-covered world and 3-4" of snow; but it was NOT here. It did start to rain about 3:30 am.

The thing I hate is when you leave for work, and the storm hits AFTER you're at work. Bummer! Our parking lot and sidewalks are NOT well maintained like they were several years ago.

Having osteoporosis of the spine, and a warning from my doctor, to NOT fall again ... well, I do not enjoy taking chances.

If the storm hits later in the morning, I will need to leave early from work.

Free Png Art Graphic Download Kits -- for the last several days: I've been down under with flu

A very good morning to you this Saturday!

Kits are all current through today, so run over and pick them up. You're One is a cute card I designed for a possible first birthday card for my newest granddaughter. I just love it! This is a big kit!

This kit has several possibilities for center flowers, and you can see how I did 2 cards, and some other centers in the kit. It's in the Hi There card kit. Another big kit!

This is the card I choose to use, so it's the featured kit card for the pickup.

These are two additional frames in the Decorate It kit. The frames are bigger, but this picture was reduced for the blog post.

And here's the rest of the Decorate It kit. Less items, but see what you can do with it.

I had the misfortune to come down with the flu after going to work on Thursday. It led to a very embarrassing moment ... and I had to leave work immediately and come home. Talk about things to have to "live down"; this was it! Luckily, there were not too many people around, but hoping the wildfire doesn't spread. Oh well. Character-builder thing for me, I guess.

I spent Thursday and Friday, being sick. Lucky for me, I had a lot of items ready to go. I wasn't able to post Friday, but everything is better this morning.

Our weather was predicted to be absolutely awful starting Thursday about noon. I had already decided to take a vacation day for Friday, and had that approved, before I left sick. I didn't want to fight or worry about traveling in the weather.

Good thing -- since I couldn't have gone in Friday either.

My husband was also home on Friday, as he's been fighting a monumental cold for the last week, maybe longer. He finally dosed up with Nyquil and some other pills and went to bed to rest all day. He needed to do that. The threat of major weather problems helped him decide too. It's bad enough to work when you're sick, but to fight the elements at the same time ... well, sometimes it's just too much.

From where I sat inside my warm home, the weather never seems to hit the mark they predicted. While we had snow, and frigid temperatures, it didn't appear to be as bad as our last storm.

Good morning Monday. My logo girl is kind of droopy-eyed today. It's a blue Monday for her, but not for me.

It is Martin Luther King Day today ... and I am on holiday! Yeah! I love holidays.

This is the free kit featured for today. It's called Flower Art Fun! It's not a big kit, but there will be additional items to go with in the next several days, and check out some of the older kits. Many items will do well together.

This just features a few more items in the kit. The circle frame comes without color, and also in lime green. There are 3 background colors: bright yellow, olive green, and lime green.

This is a card I made. There are 2 flaps to open on the front; the left first, and then the right to reveal the inside of the card. This was fun to make. I made a physical one. Turned out very cute!

I am back. Here are the final kits, and as you can see, I got 11ja0112 up early. A day early. Sometimes I run out of time and don't get to post on a particular day. Deco Frames For Your Scrapbooking Projects Along with some small Elements

Good morning!

The first kit featured above is today's kit on my website: Decos 2. The original frame in yesterday's kit is just an outline, and it's up to you to decorate as you see fit!

I decorated this frame three different ways, and you are also free to use those, if you wish.

This kit was yesterday's kit: Decos 1, featured 1/5. Left mainly as shapes, so you can color them in as you like, but featuring 2 colored graphics leading into what is offered on 1/6, which is the first kit featured on my blog today.

I hope you'll have fun decorating with these 2 kits.

I published both days this morning. I was making them yesterday, and just ran out of time, so I headed off to work, knowing I would get them up this morning.

It takes longer to convert each one into a png as well as make the psp item.

My kits are mainly "mini" kits. But, you will find many of the items useful in your scrapbooking projects. They will add color and pizazz, hopefully.

Sketches and Sculpey creations -- Froggy

Hello again!

A quick second posting ... just to show you, I have been busy! Oh yes, I have.

Actually, all the pictures are reversed again. I wish they'd go in in the order I choose them. Oh, I know. I could change them around -- but what the heck.

This first sketch above is a scribble drawing. I was actually working on my full arm strokes and turning my page. Experimenting with different size lines and lighter vs. darker shades. After doing that, I pretty much had a full page scribble, and I saw this pop out at me.

Looking at it now, I wished I moved the nose a little to the right. I made a note on my paper, which is cut out to do that, should I decide to develop it in PSP.

In the Draw-Book 1, Brenda did a drawing of an emu. It was fantastic, as is all her work. I focused in on the eye, and this was my rendition of it. Looks like it would be a SAD eye. Awww!

I wrote a note to myself to whittle down the composition. I had drawn my little silly girl below, and I zoomed in on just her eyes. The eyes and just part of her face would be my composition. Like I said, just playing here, and having fun. And hopefully, learning, too.

And this is my funny little girl. She was the first thing I drew. She started out like Brenda's drawing, but as always, I branch off doing my own thing. And this is how she turned out.

And again, a second picture of my froggy. This picture is bigger, and even a little more clear than the one I posted previously. He's sitting on a heart shaped, mosiac glass holder in my bathroom, and you can see some of the other necklaces I've made in the background.

Just thought you all might enjoy seeing some of this.

Brightly Framed Art Decorations - FREE- Pick Them Up Today And This Month

Good morning!

One day down, 363 to go. This is not a leap year.

My final day for vacation; so sad. But -- I do have a job, and for that! I am always grateful.

I hope you like this colorful contribution today. It's called Brightly Framed. It's in png format, and it's a free kit you can download and use on my website. There is a psp layer for you graphics' program owners.

This particular kit is intensely colorful and vibrant! I so enjoyed making it.

One of the things I really enjoy about being off is being able to just drop what I'm doing and pick up my clay. Yesterday, the kit at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics was Smart Froggy. I mentioned on my webpage, that I thought he'd make a cute clay sculpey.

So here he is ... minus the glasses. I should go back and make a pair to slip on him. Heck! If I have time today, maybe I will. What do you think?

My photography is getting better with smaller items. I have a Canon PowerShot SX100, and I finally got my book out and looked up HOW to shoot close ups of smaller detailed pictures. I am using the P and tulip setting. It's working very well! I am so happy!

Last, but not least ... is this little necklace I did a couple of days ago. I call it berries and a flower. I am really quite pleased with it, too. Not only did I use my new settings for this, but I also used my lighted magnifying glass to zero in on it. Came out great!

When I checked my email this morning, I was so pleased to receive an email from DrawSpace. I hadn't been there in quite a few years, so had to look up my login info in my card case. Brenda Hoddinott who wrote Drawing For Dummies, had posted 2 free pdf books for me to download -- free!

The first is the Drawing-Book 1. It's some 132 pages of fantastic stuff!

The second book I dearly love. It's the Illustrated Dictionary. Wow! Studying her section on colors is what prompted me to come up with today's colorful kit! It's fantastic.

It also prompted me to do some free-hands sketching again. I haven't posted those little items yet, but will in another post. Hey! I'm having fun!

But alas! I have much to do today. So I need to get on with it. I want to go out, and it's almost lunch time.

Kicking Off 2011--Twenty-Eleven-with new FREE art graphics--Smart Froggy Png Download Kit

Good New Year Morning!

2011 ... Twenty-eleven~~~ it has finally arrived.

December 2010 and all 2010 graphics are down! Today starts the new free art graphics for January! This is called Smart Froggy! Very cute. Pick it up today at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics! (Hmmm. He would make a pretty cute sculpey! Think I'll do him!!)

I missed the big ball falling; I knew I would.

We bought champagne and shrimp with cocktail sauce to split. Since we are both early, early risers (like 1:30-2 am type early), we popped the bottle this morning. Hey! It was still dark!

It was yummy as usual.

As of 2:41 am this morning, it was raining. Not a sprinkle, but a fairly good rain. At 3:04 am, we had one long rumble of thunder that lasted a full 30 seconds. That's long.

I get a lot of my ideas for my graphics from inspiring websites. I get ivillage newsletters, and I always check out what's going on in forums -- all over the web. One link leads to another. After I find something I want to do fun, I start looking for pictures, just so I know how I want to pose my character, when I'm doing characters.

Other times, my whimsical scribbles develop into whimseys. Haven't done any in awhile. Need to do some again. They are fun.

A Really Big Green Flower -- Simple Beauty Kit Download

Good morning!!!

Tomorrow, most of you will be enjoying your New Year's Eve -- preparing for a big night on the town. Me. I'll probably be snoozing!

I know this is a really big green flower. You can see the smaller one in the picture/kit below.

And this is the kit for 12/30/10. This kit was done a little differently. Head over to my website to find out what the difference is. There are lots of pictures up today too.

This is just a little fantasy fun I did this morning. More for myself than to share, other than just sharing it here. I know it's a little hard to see, but on the bottom of 12/30, they're big ... so you can see them. Go check them out. Like I said, it's just for fun.

There's also some stationary in today's kit.

Last week, we had a pretty big ham, and we've been eating off it all week. Yesterday, I finally cubed up what was left, and refrigerated it in a baggie. Just enough to add to some good old macaroni and cheese.

Good morning!

It is Thursday, 12/3o/10, and the last day to work for many, as most companies are giving tomorrow off for New Year's. I currently am on my 2-week vacation, and I'm enjoying it. Hate to see it coming to a close, but hey! I still have 4 days before next Monday!!!

The Bear Frame Kit is yesterday's offering at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. There have been some problems publishing my website, but they appear to be done right now ... so I've gotten everything up. Today's kit will go up in a little bit.

This is a frame kit for Tuesday, 12/28/10. It's small, I know, but you can head over to my website to see the actual kit. It is much larger, and has several options for you to mix and match to come up with your own frames. I used the two pictures I just love in my example here.

This kit was offered on Monday, 12/27/10. It would make a good thank you card, which is what I'm planning on using it for. I love the flower border along the bottom. These are colors I'm also very fond of.

All the kits will be up till Jan. 1, 2011, and then they come down. So pick up any of the kits you want -- for free -- till the end of the month.

I love having time off to just experiment in my art graphics program. This thank you card was one that I spent some time just experimenting with ... to get the textures which I'm pleased with. It's so much fun.

I'm sure most of you are looking forward to New Year's Eve. It will be quiet in our house, and I wouldn't be surprised if I slept through it again this year. I did last year. Since I go to bed very early, anywhere from 6 to 7 p.m., it is extremely hard for me to stay up. And, I am 60 years old now.

Sculpey-Earrings-Necklace--And Free Art

Good morning -- again!

I put the images up in one order, but when you hit the upload button, they always show up in reverse. I need to remember that.

Today, here are some of my sculpey items: a pair of earrings, and a necklace! They turned out well.

And now for my favorite pictures during this holiday season. I took so many, but am just choosing a few to post the excitement of HER holiday season at my home. As I said, she received everything on her 5-item list, and more.

Taylor is very much into art ... as am I. This is a feature we share that she finds great joy in; being like her mamaw! I love it, too! She got a set of colored pencils, some gel pens, and some metallic ink pens. (Someday, maybe Santa will bring me some of those same items.)

I just love this picture of Tay and her papaw Ray. Believe it or not, Tay was holding the camera. The two were in the kitchen, and papaw came up behind her and peeked over her shoulder. I have a very large one of this, and I'm going to get some large photo paper, and fill the background with black and print it out. I then hope to frame it and hang it in our home.

I love this smile! "This," she proclaimed with glee, "is my FAVORITE BOW!" She liked it because it was trimmed in white. I liked it best, too. All her packages had different kinds of red bows on them. Emma's packages had gold.

And here she is again, opening another gift. She had a very good Christmas, and a really great time. The next morning, she texted me, and said, "I love you and miss you. I wish I was at your house!"

Probably got into trouble at home. Oh, the joys of childhood.

I love having her here, too. She is quieter at my house, and more involved in what she's doing. Not as riled up as at home. We have lots of interaction, and we also have lots of individual time. I don't know why she is so "over-active" other places. And while her mom says she has trouble lighting a bee under her bonnet, I have no such problems. When she stayed last week for a day and a night, she had an appointment to go to, and we got there 10 minutes early, and had to wait for her to go in.

My guess is she doesn't want to be left out. I don't think she has to be the center of attention, although she is a LEO. I wish I could do more to make her world a happier place. We have lots of serious discussions, too.

She asked me just the other day if I ever feel lonely. I told her no, not usually. I just don't.

I explained to her that being alone is okay for me. I find so much joy in creating and in my hobbies, that there's just no time to be lonely.

After our discussion, I thought back over our talk. On the way to her appointment, I told her, "When I was your age, I remember feeling lonely. You want friends to like you, and you try hard to keep their friendships, even when they don't turn out. You think that something's wrong with you, and it makes us unhappy. So I guess I was lonely for many years ... in a very quiet way, though."

I then told her that someday, she would reach a time when it didn't matter anymore what others thought of her.

I told her, "It happened to me in my 30's. I just finally accepted who I am, what I like, and that what I feel ... is as important as what others feel.

I like me. I am comfortable with me. And. If others don't like me, that's okay. Because I am okay ... just the way I am." I told her that her mother just came into this stage of "I'm ok!", and she's in her 30's.

Her mother was a lonely little girl; although she always had me. From birth, she went everywhere with me, and was more comfortable with adults than children. I homeschooled her for the last five years of school. We became good friends, even though we were mother and daughter.

When there is tension between us today, as occasionally happens, I remain quiet and let that time pass. It always does.

I hope these remembrances help my granddaughter. We've talked about it before, and I imagine we will talk about it again.

She did play soccer this year, and enjoyed it. She hopes to play again next year.

I think this is good, as piano lessons, guitar lessons, dance lessons, etc. ... are all pretty solitary activities. With soccer, she is part of a team ... and one of many of the other little girls.

She's also in Girl Scouts, and this is good.

Only time heals our worries. And some day, she will come into her own, and she'll realize that SHE is ONE SPECTACULAR little gal.

Christmas 2010--and free art graphics, pdfs, and png download kits

Good morning!

So much to post this morning, so here goes.

Christmas Eve Day ... it was OUR day to be with our in-town grandchildren. Here's my husband, Papaw Ray, with our 7-month old granddaughter. Isn't she adorable? (I have one of him that I love with our 10-year old granddaughter, but ran out of blogger space, so will do another post after this one.

We had a marvelous Christmas. My granddaughter received everything she asked for on her Christmas list from us. She wanted a Fushigi Ball (being kept here for the two of us to learn doing it together), as it is NOT for children UNDER 12. She's okay with that.

She received her DS game, Crafting Mama DS, a very nice easel with a storage space drawer, some large canvases, and medium-sized canvases, and several sketch books. That was the end of her list. I also got her a computer carrier on wheels with a pull-out handle, a small box of candy, and several sets of pencils and ink drawing pens (gels and metallic). She was set. I also bought her two computer games; the "find the hidden objects" games.

Emma got little socks, little socks that look like shoes, about 10 outfits, some Similac and baby food, too. She's so little, we are being more practical for now. I was amazed that she sat on her mama's lap, and helped tear the presents open. She squealed and giggled with excitement. I was so surprised!!

Yesterday, I had some flowers up. There is a pdf download, so you can cut them out. There is also the traditional png kit download. All free. Lots of pictures of what I've done with them, as well as other pictures (some of my hamster, Betzy), and Taylor with Bella.

I also had some sculpey necklaces up that I've been working on.

It's just been such a wonderful vacation. I am on my second week, and enjoying every minute of it.

This little guy is offered on 12/25, I think. It's just one of the items for that day, and is a puppy for the kids to color. Hope they have fun with that.

And finally ... this is my Merry Christmas to all of you out in Internet land, wherever your piece of land resides. Wherever it is ... it is HOME! And I hope you and yours ... had a wonderful, peaceful, restful, fun-filled Christmas!
