Card or Scrapbooking Template-Free Graphics

Good morning,

I am playing in my scrapbooking program again this morning.

I designed this little template, so I can pull it up and add to it any time.

Snag it, if you want. Start a card out of it.

A friend of mine and co-worker, witnessed a woman hit by a car on Sunday night. She died yesterday.

The bad thing is, my friend said she walked out into traffic without even looking.

That's an awful thing to have happened, but we train our children to look both ways before stepping out into the road, and then don't do it ourselves.

I know when I have to go through downtown, I see people do this all the time. They walk ... even when their light tells them it's not time for them to walk. They don't look at you at all, but just walk right into the street, knowing that you'll stop for them.

But what if you don't SEE THEM!??

This is a careless attitude. The driver of the car was not charged.

C'mon! Let's act like the adults we are. Let's model the behavior we teach our children. We teach more when they are observing than by just saying what they are supposed to do.

It's a tragic thing. For everyone. I am very sorry for her family and friends. This didn't need to happen.

So check yourself! Are you looking -- before you cross -- or just assuming that the people driving will stop? Think about it.

Have a safe ... and a good day!

Mon. 1/11/2010: Frame and Little Cartoon Lady-Free Graphics

Good morning!

My post this morning is a frame that is on my website today.

I made this little cartoon lady, and placed her in it.

I put no saying with it, as this is a blank for you to use, if you wish to snag it.

Yesterday, my granddaughter came to spend a few hours with me. We had a wonderful time.

She loves to play the Wii, so that's what we did with some of our time yesterday. We played one game of bowling, and I beat her by one point. Believe me ... this NEVER happens.

We then played a game a golf where she slaughtered me. And 2 games of tennis. She beat me on both of these!

Tennis is much more strenuous for my right arm which I injured back in June 2008. It was an injury from work, so it was a federal workman's comp claim, which almost no one knows how to process. Therefore, the tears in my right shoulder joint were never fixed.

While my arm is usable, I am very limited in what I can do. We bought the Wii for Christmas in 2008, after playing it at my granddaughter's house, because I thought it would help strengthen my arm. In the beginning, I thought it was helping, but eventually realized it wasn't because my pain increased.

Therefore, I had not really played it until last weekend. I over did it with the tennis yesterday, but we had so much fun. But, I can feel the nerve pain back in the lower portion (from the elbow down into my right hand) again. Ugh! Not bad ... but it's there anyway.

Since I played about 2 hours last weekend (but played no tennis), and then this weekend (and did play tennis), I think it was a bit much. I need to forgo the tennis ... even though I like it a lot.

Life. Isn't it fun!

I hope you enjoy the free graphics today. My website has 2 days of postings, so grab them while they're up.

Have a great day.

Sunday 1/10/2010-Template for A Card or Scrapbooking Card

Good morning,

This template was one I made for my nephew's birthday. The finished card is different from this as I added birthday items and sayings to it to send.

This template is blank, so you can use it, if you wish.

My husband gave me a scrapbooking maker. I placed this template into the program, so I can add my own templates, and graphics to it.

I spent most of Saturday and Sunday playing with it. I made 3 wedding pages from my daughter's wedding in it to send to my sister in St. Louis. She came for the wedding, and I thought she might like the pages.

Then I made a page for my nephew's birthday, and also my nieces.
It was 2 days of fun. Thank you, dh! I love it!

Hope you can snag this one and use it.

Have a great day!

Good morning!

Another wonderful day to create new items. I had lots of fun this morning!

This is a little summary of some of the items I did today. All of these items are available -- free to use -- today, at my website. Tomorrow; they're gone.

Feel free to pick them up today and use them in your creations.

There's 5 papers, and lots of little fantasy-type graphics -- again, my favorite type of art.

Many of the individual items, I've done into borders.

Well, it's the weekend and a time to relax and let go of all the weeks worries. That's what my artwork does for me.

The bad winter storm with lots of snow (about 5" inches altogether) from Thursday is over. All that is left promises to be a frigid weekend, but we are expecting some sunshine later in the day today, and more of that tomorrow. The winds are supposed to be a little more this weekend making our cold temperatures feel even colder. But -- that's winter, I guess.

There was a very bad crash during the storm on Thursday. A semi lost control, crossed the median on the freeway, slamming head on into a bus carrying a small load of passengers. The driver was a friend of a friend. She was killed.

My heart goes out to her family. My own dad died in a semi truck crash with 2 other passengers. I remember the shock of his sudden death, and how much it affected me for so many years. Even today, I hate being around a semi on the freeway. It is one time I will speed up ... just to get past it.

Time does heal all wounds ... but right now, the grief is fresh! My prayers go out to all of you that were affected by such a big loss. Two teenage children without their mom, and it's going to be hard ... for a long time. God bless you during this time.

A total of 4 died in that crash. According to the news, they are still investigating.

My friend's husband is a truck driver, and as a matter of fact, SHE used to drive a truck. She said that 4 other trucks pulled off the road to rest for the night after seeing the destruction from the accident. They decided nothing was worth the risk for now. It was time to sit and ponder.

For the most part, drivers were courteous during the storm.

But ... there are always those self-absorbed individuals whose foolishness leads them by the head. There were those on the road, too.

To those, I only say this. An accident happens in the flash of a second. If you can only think of yourself during these times, and getting to where you have to go, without respect for the others that are less assured of their journey; then think of one of your loved ones ... losing their lives to someone whose thinking is mirroring yours. Let this thought slow you down!

It is only for a short time. These storms pass. But the loss of lives, and the foolishness of whoever causes it, whether it was your fault or NOT, will haunt you for a lifetime. And there will too many to think about, living with your act of foolishness. Their lives ... will never be the same again.

Have a blessed day, everybody.
