Finally, my Little Handmade Sock Dolls

Good afternoon!

Shame on me ... for again being so late.  Apologies to anyone waiting to see the little handmade sock doll I made for a friend last month.

Above are two handmade sock dolls I made.  I found the original idea on pinterest, but I changed her pattern to fit my own needs.  I wanted to have little arms off to the side, and this left a tummy in the middle too. (I'll have to see if I can find that pin, as she has the instructions for making the sock dolls already written out.)

The bigger doll is made from a regular girls sock.  The smaller doll is made from a ruffly toddlers sock.  I like things in mini scale.  You know that if you've seen my sculpey's.

I crocheted a little scarf to go around them.  On mine, a small purple ribbon adorns her hat, and on the small one, the pink yarn made into a bow for her hat.

Both handmade sock dolls have movable eyes glued on them.  The small one is sweet because her eyes have blue lids with lashes too.  I forgot to take a picture of her closeup.

As I like to do for all of my creations, I had to tube it and use it in my artwork as well.

And this picture is my finished creation for my artwork.

Since I usually make flowers, I had my sock dolls placed on a stack of them.

I hope you enjoy looking at them.

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back shortly to post a little more.

P.S.  Due to finances being extremely tight (my husband lost his job), I've had to take down my website at EasyAsPieDailyGraphics.com.  It's okay.  I had been thinking of taking it down anyway.

A Special ART POSTCARD for a friend

Good Tuesday morning!

Yesterday, I shared my little mice I made- the newer ones.

Today, I took one of my mice and tubed it, and added it to my new little mini, one day kit, offered for free at my website.  Items are in a zip file, and free for you to snag and use in your own creations.   All of the items in the card are in the kit.

I used these graphics to create an ART POSTCARD to send to a sweet friend.  Along with the card, she will get her very own mouse.  She is getting the one that is actually in the picture.  It will go out today, after I get it printed on photo paper.  I put everything in a bubble envelope to protect the postcard and mouse.

She loves getting these little items.

And here is a free png for you to snag today.  If you go over to my website, you can pick up all the graphics.

Enjoy!

Mixed Media Art: Cute Little Bubble Frame

Hello again,

Again, the color quality just doesn't make it with my new cell phone.  I will need to try my actual camera, and see if it comes out better.

But since is to just show off my project, this will do for now.

The red in this is RED, really red!

Actually, the base of this was packing for some mod podge stars I picked up at Michaels.  I was getting ready to throw the container away and stopped.

This would make a really cute frame with pictures or stuff, I thought.  I had some of the pictures from the photo magnets I made for my daughter for Christmas.  I've cut them out and have them for me!  So I took 2 of my favorites, and added them here.

I took the base and painted it in several coats of acrylic RED paint.  I was going to take the writing around the box off; then decided it would add to the picture, so I left it.  I like it.

Inside the bubble are my two little pictures.  Below the girls are 4 sculpey hearts I created YEARS ago.  They were on a cute little girl holder frame I'd made.  She is covered up by my little beautiful granddaughters.

I had some paper flowers I'd made, putting a gem in it, and added that to the bottom.

On the outside of the bubble, another sculpey creation; this time it's a flower.  I put it on card stock and made the red swirly lines around it.  Another flower paper creation and gem on the far right.  And smack dab in the middle, on top, a miniature teddy bear I'd picked up on sale.  I have one or two more teddy bears, and one pink bunny.

I put it all together, and it's ready to hang.

There is a little hole that was part of the package that is behind the bear (the hole was designed for hanging the packages on the racks in the store).

This really turned out sensational.  I am in love with the finished project!

Fun things!  Do you do things like this?

Enjoy.

Exciting Journal Art Project; Free png Flowers for you

Good Saturday morning,

In browsing the internet yesterday, I found pictures about art journaling.

I am hoping to journal each day with old pictures I have of me and my family.  I hope I can keep it up, because I'd love to put the journal on a dvd for my kids ... maybe as a Christmas present next year.

But this idea was unique.  There are NO RULES.  Nothing is wrong.  Nothing is right.  You create whatever you want ... and it's just for yourself.

You can use any journaling ideas you want!  A quote, a story, a word, a feeling ... it's your creation ... for YOU!

I like to combine digital with physical.  In the picture above, my creation is totally digitial.  But I liked it so much, I wanted a physical creation with it.

I kept Bethesda (the strange little character) separated out from the rest of the picture.  I didn't have photo paper at the moment (hope to buy some today),   I printed the base picture on 8 x 11.5 card stock, and then Bethesda on a separate card stock.  I cut her out, and glued her to another piece of card stock to make her stiff.  I then mounted her on the base ... the shadow was left ON the base, with quilling circles.

It is beautiful.

This is a very poor quality picture of the finished project.  Believe me when I say, the actual finished project looks sooooo much better.  The color just doesn't come through.  I slipped the item into a protective cover sleeve, and she's all ready to go into my book that I keep.  I still will probably do another, but smaller, as I'm making a smaller frame (about 5 x 7"), and would love to put this one in it.

This picture has been turned slightly, in hopes that you can see the dimension she has from the base.

Here are some png flowers for you to snag today.

A great site for journal prompts, and where I found my quote for my project is here:
http://www.createwritenow.com/journal-prompts

She has some excellent journal prompts, and I hope you check it out!  Great stuff!

Tomorrow, I'm posting pictures of a small journal book I made.  I've done a few art journal pages in it already, and they are dimensional.  The book won't close, but when it's finished, I'll add a ribbon that attaches to the front and back to hold it slightly closed.

I will need to try the journal on a larger scale also, as the little book I made is very small.  But, it's pretty, I think.

I have my items ready for the 31st, too.  New Year's Eve.

Until then, enjoy.

P.S.  I am really enjoying making more of my creations into physical items.

I will post the one I worked on last night.

A Rare Species; Not a Stereotype

Good Saturday afternoon,

I am still playing, and had a few graphics I wanted to share.  The jpg above spells it all out; about my work.  I don't want to be the same old thing ... I want rare artwork.

This is a png, and is much larger than it appears here.  I like black and whites, as you probably know.  And I loved this vertical border.

I love fantasy creatures.  I've made so many over my years of creating.  I made this one this afternoon, and wanted to share him.  He started in creating just some simple elements, and grew into this.  He's a very happy guy, and I hope you like him.

That's it ... it's time to get away from the computer ... and just relax!

Enjoy.

A Free Christmas Tag For YOU!

A very good Wednesday morning to you!

Today I'm offering this little Christmas tag with a snowman and a cherub on a flower.  The above is a jpg, but you are free to print it off and use it on Christmas presents.

For those that have a graphics progam (you can still use, even if you don't), here is the border, in case you'd like to use for a base for other scrapbooking or card-making projects.  The individual items are pngs.

This is a cherub I made back on 4/2/11.  I made the flower this morning, and put the two together.  The original cherub had a blue dress, and she was darker.  This graphic has also been reduced down for my tag.

I used a picture of my sculpey snowman before, but here he is again, this time in a tag.  That's the beauty of having tubes of my work.

I didn't like this little sculpey creation so I've since sliced him up, and used his clay in other items.  Ha!  Ha!  That the beauty of re-purposing art I don't like.  But, I took a picture of him before re-purposing him.  He has been offered before, but has been lightened and mirrored.  He had also NOT been baked yet.  Even ugly things have a use.

Christmas tags will be on lots of presents.  I hope you'll find a use for mine.

Happy Wednesday, and have fun creating!

A Sock Bear and Artful Christmas Graphics: Free pngs.

Christmas Cheer for the Holiday Season!

Good afternoon,

I spend a lot of time on pinterest.  I love pinterest.  It's addicting.

One of the things I found on it was a sock bear.  You can find it here:
http://www.funlobby.com/index.php/201201042489/teddy-bear-made-out-of-a-sock-10-images.html

It was so darn cute, and I thought I pinned it.  I searched all over, and cannot find it, so I did a quick google search, and found it right away.

So when I went grocery shopping yesterday, I picked up some white Hanes socks.  And last night, I quickly tried my hand at my first bear sock!  He's featured in the first two pictures.  The art work is mine, of course.

I went into Corel Painter 12, and picked some colors I liked and put them together, and then into Paint Shop Pro to create the art work.

I took a picture of my little bear, and pulled him into "the shop" and edited him to put him into my art work.  If you follow me, you know I love doing this kind of thing.  Since Christmas is coming, I thought he was perfect.

I made my bear, and then crocheted a scarf and flower hat for him to keep him warm.  He's kind of rough for my first attempt, but I learned a lot in crafting him, and "thank you very much" to the creator of this tutorial!

I also am amazed with fantasy flowers, and above and below, you find two I created this morning.  I love the colors ... again done originally in Painter.  They really shine!

All of the items above are in pngs, so feel free to download the graphics and enjoy.  Perhaps they'll find their way into one of your Christmas creations this year.

I was reading my Woman's World magazine.  The current one is available in the stores until Friday this coming week.  It's the December 10th, 2012, edition.  In it, I learned that adding 1 cup of beans daily for five days, will help you lose 1/2 to 1 pound a day, without changing any of your current eating habits.

The beans help you feel satisfied and full, and helps cut the fat down in your waistline.  I just have to try it, so this week, that's what I'm doing.

Pick up the magazine to find out more ... I don't receive anything from them, but I just love their magazine.

Today I made macaroni and cheese for lunch, and drained and rinsed canned black beans.  I added 1/2 cup to the mac and cheese.  It was delicious.

I've found that beans are terrific tasting in almost any dish.  I do need to pick up some "beano" though, as I get quite noisy from the beans.  Embarrassing.

When my kids were little, I made Kidney Bean Lasagna.  To them, that was lasagna.  I don't think they even realized it was meatless.

I recently told my second husband about this, and even though he cooks lasagna with ground beef, he added kidney beans to it and declared, "Hey!  I wouldn't have believed kidney beans would actually make my lasagna taste better!"

My kids also were treated to baked beans served over a slice of bread when they were growing up.  This was a wonderful meatless meal.  Makes me hungry just thinking about it.

Hope you enjoy the graphics and my little sock bear.

I plan to make about 16 of these bears.  The package I bought had 8 pairs of socks, and it only takes one to make the bear.  I plan to give one as my "white elephant" gift at our Christmas party at work this year.

Have a wonderful Sunday.  See you soon!

And to all you Pinterest fans out there ... KEEP PINNING!  (I know I will!!!)

I'm thinking of discontinuing this site as I can continue to offer pngs here ... and its free for me.

More Free Pngs for 10/27 and 10/28: Art Post Cards

Good afternoon,

The above picture is showing you how I'm using some of my artwork right now.  It's working very well.  They print out very nicely on photo paper, and then I make an envelope for them.  They look spectacular.

This are the pngs being offering for tomorrow:  10/29.  There's 3 frames, 4 papers, and one large deco button.  Pngs don't have a background when opened with a graphic editing program, such as Paint Shop Pro, and many others.  You can also find FREE graphic editing programs.

Many scrapping groups have their own FREE software that you can use, too.  You might want to give it a try.  It makes for some fun creating, and I've created many items for you to play with and enjoy.

This is 10/28's free png offerings.  There are 5 additional items not shown in this picture.

Yesterday and today, I started a new section called lessons.  I took an item I created, and ran it through some different effects.  I've listed the steps to show you how they turned out.  You might want to give it try in your graphics editing program.

On 10/27, the free pngs were the original offerings for part 1 of today's set, which is the 2nd set.

Hope you enjoy them.

I am also truly enjoying Pinterest the last couple of days.  Oh!  The wealth of information you can find on these boards.  Check mine out.  Why not follow me?

Reversibles, Up Close and Personal, and a STICKY NOTE

Good morning,

Playing around with artwork, as usual.

The first item:  upper left corner is what I call a reversible.  It is the same design, but half is done on a white background, and the other half is on a black background.  It makes the design look different, and I find that fascinating.

Item two:  Upper right hand corner is another UP CLOSE AND PERSONAL design.  I started with the flower at the top, and made frame designs for the next 2 pictures.  Text can go in these, or pictures.  It's just a fun way to show off something else I'm creating.

Item three:  This is a sticky note.  I just got an email a few days ago, and it had sticky notes on it.  I thought, "I bet I can create that in Paint Shop Pro."  It only took a minute.  It was very easy to do.  Turned out very nice!

Whatever art you like, I hope you have a wonderful creative day doing it.

Till next time:  enjoy!

Thank You, Kenney! I love it!

Good morning!

And thank you -- Kenney -- for doing this fantastic gift for me! This touched my heart more than you'll ever know!

I went to work yesterday ... and sitting on my desk was this adorable little CD clock! It sits in it's own little black frame holder and is just so elegant looking.

I knew who did it! Kenney!

Kenney is always doing something special for someone. Taking a photo and printing it out large and giving it to the appropriate person!

At work, he took one of my flower designs from my website -- many years ago, and made a CD clock that hangs on my bulletin board. I was always saying I couldn't see the clock for our room, and he fixed it for me: he made me one; using my artwork! Now ... that is thoughtful!

On Friday, he had asked me for a copy of my Empathy Fairie, and I sent it to him Sunday morning. Lo and behold ... HIS ARTISTY took my creation and turned it into the most marvelous gift. (He does gorgeous work!)

He said this clock is for my desk at home. I almost hated to bring them home as I couldn't show the gifts off to all our co-workers ... but I do love them! I had several people come to my desk so I could show them ... and stopped Mary on the way out to show her. She thought they were beautiful. (Of course they are. Kenney made them!)

Together, he and I have worked on projects for several people in our division. We make a pretty awesome team!

This picture is done very large. I estimate it to be 11 x 14, and he framed it. This picture does not do it justice ... as I took it early, early this morning and I just didn't have enough light. I had to edit it as best I could for now, but when I get better light ... I will repost it!

This is the first time, I've ever had my artwork hanging in my home. It is hanging on the wall as you come up our stairs into our living area. As my husband says, "It's the first thing you see upon entering our home." He loved it, too!

I have a little surprise for you this morning, as well, Kenney.

Thank you ... for making something for me that I will treasure all my life! I know it took time and cost ... but I appreciate your talents and thoughtfulness so much!

God bless.

Your co-conspiratory IN ART!

Free Download Kits-Png and PSP-Frames 1 and 2

Good morning,

It's Sunday, and I'm getting caught up on my blog posts. So you're seeing the oldest items right now, but they are still on my website all this month of February!

The first is Frames 2.

This is a picture of a sculpey heart I made. The picture really doesn't do it justice. It's much prettier!

These are two sculpey, digital paper-art butterflies. I made many of these, and I featured two in my last post.

This is Frames 1.

You can read what day the kits are featured by looking at 11f0206, as in the above picture. 11 stands for 2011; the year. f02 is the month: February, and 06 is the day of the month. In this case, it all stands for Feb 6, 2011.

Back in a minute with some more posts.

Because I Live ... I Create

Thursday, 7/2/09

Good morning!

So many ideas … so little time. So many mediums … so little time.

I live to create … !!!

These items are some that I’ve posted on my website. The nice thing about them is that you can pick up the finished item … or the individual pieces.

Pick a flower, corner a frame, or grab a background.

Decos, deco boxes, borders, accessories – all free. Just give yourself a minute … and go take a peek!

The webpage to checkout:

http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com/

Right now, there's items going back as far as September 2008. Half of September has been removed, and soon more will be taken down.

But while it's there, it is free!

Most of my wee mornings hours are at my computer -- just creating away.

I get caught between creating graphics, and creating sculpey's.

For the last two weeks, I put my art program to rest, and just created sculpey's.

My clay colors have dwindled, and it is time to go purchase more.

If the sun comes out today .. I will take some pictures to post.

Until then ... I scrap!

Do you?

Having a very good ART Tuesday

Good morning,

This morning is a very good morning!

I made this brightly colored deco box, which can be added to any scrapbooking projects freely. There is a blank on my website to change the word Tuesday to Day or Birthday. The blank lets you choose what to put in the light blue box.

If you wish to pick it up, just go to http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com.

Why is today such a "cheery" Tuesday? Because I have an MRI scheduled this morning at 10 am. My fall on 6/10 has left me with a bum right arm, which becomes more painful as the days go by. Please, please, please ... let this test show the problem so I can get it fixed!!!

Yesterday, my dear hubby had a brain scan. An MRI of his brain and the consult will be either Wednesday or Thursday. They believe he had a stroke about a month ago. While he appears to be "ok" in every way, he still needs to have it checked out.

Two years ago, they wanted to do an angioplasty on him: balloon surgery. In his heart. He said no way, but is now rethinking that. He has very high blood pressure as well, and if the new meds don't improve it when he goes for those tests next week; they will hospitalize him. He will most assuredly have the surgery THIS TIME. He is rethinking his condition, thank heavens.

I certainly wish to have him around a while longer. We've only been married 8 1/2 years, and together for 10. I am NOT ready for him to follow his brother home.

My condition is NOT life-threatening, but just plain painful. It has been 4 1/2 months. Sleeping was easier before this last weekend, but during it and since, I have so much trouble finding a comfortable position. If I lay on my back, my right shoulder blade hurts. If I lay on my left side, my whole right arm and shoulder hurts. Laying on my stomach causes discomfort. You would think laying on the painful arm on my right side would hurt more, but it is the only way I can get some relief. If Ihave too many pillows, my neck hurts. I am just plain tired of pain.

Once the test is done, I will need to wait to see how they plan to fix me. Surgery? Maybe. Rehab; most definitely.

So ... I am looking forward to today.

I will be sitting at my desk at 6 am this morning. I will work till 9 am, and then take some sick leave to head to the imaging place. I don't think it will take that long, but I'm trying to decide whether to head back to work, or just take the rest of the day off. I guess I'll decide before I leave for the appointment.

Hoping everyone health ... and that you, too, have a very "cheery" Tuesday.

See you soon.

Recharging Over The Holiday with Art

Good morning to you!

Two posts for today, as I missed the last few days. My website takes a great deal of time to prepare each day.

There are tons of graphics there since it has been up 48 days now. If you need accessories for your art creations, you can find plenty over at my new place. Go through them. Pick and choose the ones you like, and then freely use them.

If you like them, let me know by signing my guest book. A little feedback is food for the soul, you know.

The place?
http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com

You can find some of the accessories used in the first picture over there.

This second picture was one I did several days ago, and meant to post. Never got here, so I'm posting both today.

Again, you can find a lot over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics!

Today may be Thursday, but today is my Friday. I am taking the next 10 days as vacation. I feel a need to rest, and just have some more fun with my art endeavors.

I've purchased a Cricut Expression as well as the Design Studio, and while I got to play with it a little on Sunday, I need much more time. I really want to play with the software to see what all I can do with it.

And, of course, I wouldn't mind doing a little more sculpeys.

I'm running on about 4 1/2 hours of sleep this morning, so it's bound to be a wild day. I get off at 3, so I should be fine.

Looking forward to Memorial Day, and the weather that promises to be just beautiful.

Take care. And see you soon!

Gas Prices and Work

Good Sunday Morning to you all!

Gas prices rose this week to almost $4/gallon. Something has got to change.

Sometimes, I wish I could be like this snail. Work from home, and not have to worry about all the stress from rising prices. Times are ludicrous!

I have heard that in the very distant future, it could actually cost us $10/gallon. I guess we won't need the roads updated, and the car dealers can quit selling new cars, because only the rich will use either of them.

At work, I hear people talking about investing in another form of transportation: scooters for back roads, motorcyles, etc.

My little red Honda Civic EX used to only need $15-$20 a week to a week and a half to get to work and back. Now, I draw the limit at putting $30 in it, although $30 no longer fills it completely.

Hey! I heard a really good tip at one of my Eons groups, and thought I'd pass it along to you. Ever pull out aluminum foil or saran wrap and have the entire roll fall out? All the time! Well, look on the side of the outside box: see two little tabs to push in which locks your rolls inside their boxes! When I read this tip, I had to run check it out. Sure 'nuf! It's there. Amazing!

Last weekend, I bought a Cricut Expressions and the Design Studio. Talk about a lot of new things to learn. Today, I hope to really get into some of it!

Enjoy the graphic today, and if you'd like to pick up some more, head on over to my site at http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com/ for lots more. They're free to use!

Have a great Sunday.

See you soon!

Creating joy - art accessories

Good morning -- again!

Being that today is Friday, and MY favorite day of the week, I decided to share this creating joy creation with you.

Again, accessories from future art kit paks.

These are quite pretty, I think.

If you're interested in any of the paks, please leave a comment. They are free to use in your own designs.

Have a really terrific Friday. See ya soon!

Art Kit Pak 7

Good morning,

I guess I'm having trouble keeping track of my art kit paks, because I seem to also have 2 five paks, and no 6 pak. Will have to do some updating to these.

This is art kit pak 7. More accessories for decorating. Quite a lovely bunch, I think.

Columbus was expecting a winter storm through last night and all of today. While we have a nice amount of snow on the ground, the weather will not warrant a day off. Darn!

Mind you now, I do like my job. And I'm grateful to have it. But oh how I hate leaving my home.

Here's to a wonderful Friday and a great finish to this week. Back in a moment to feature a creation.

Art Kit Pak 5

Good morning,

Just another day in paradise! The week is almost over.

Introducing art kit pak 5. Still a little red, and some pinks, but other colors, too!

Accessories for cards, bookmarkers, business cards, envelopes, or wherever you can think to place them. That's what they're for.

Jazz up a t-shirt with them, or put on jeans. If you know how to put them on transfer paper, you can do lots with them.

They look good with quotes as well.

Have a great Thursday. See you soon.
