Sat. 4/24/10: Free Graphics

Good morning!

Just a little "simple something" this morning.

I has been one heck of a week.

On Wednesday, I ran out of time to get my website up, so ran off to work without doing it.

I had a message to call my sister in St. Louis and finally remembered my cell phone. So I called.

She had tragic news. My other sister lives in GA, and she has removed her family from ours ... some 20 years ago. We have not spoken since then.

It seems her daughter, my niece, committed suicide on the 16th. She had just been married a year. She's suffered 3 miscarriages, and had a severe condition that she was being treated for that caused her great pain. My sympathies are with my estranged family and my niece's husband, and I hope to send a card. It is tragic news.

My 10th wedding anniversary came around on the 20th.

And yesterday, I spent most of my day off doing sculpey claying. Kneading the clay has a mind-calming influence, plus I get finished creations. While we were expecting rain, it didn't come in till later that evening, so it was a beautiful day ... and I had my windows open and my patio door. It has been a lovely spring so far.

My website is all ready to go for today with quite a bit on it ... if I could get it published. Right now, it won't go up. Oh well. I'll try again later.

Have a great weekend. I hope your week has been a good one.

Sun. 4/18/10 Home Sweet Home Items-Free Graphics

Good morning!

It's Sunday morning, and I have three items to post today, which includes a new sig tag. Some days, I may make a new one; others days; ... maybe not.

This first item is an envelope. I would personalize mine for a card and put the address under the house. Maybe I'd put the numbers ON the house above the door.

Some of the items were taken from the items up on my website today. They are up for the next 24 hours, so grab them if you want them.

Being Sunday, there is a new weekly sidebar as well.

This second item is how my finished card would look. It would be plain on the inside and used to drop a quick note from "Home Sweet Home". These are the individual items to pick up. There is a second page for more items not on the homepage, and for bigger items.

Yesterday, I bought myself a new toy! Well. Not really a toy ... but an exercise helper. It's a Horizon EX-58 Elliptical Machine that I purchased at PLAY IT AGAIN SPORTS in Grove City. It was $100 off and there was a brand new one next to it.

I asked the owner of the store, "What's the difference in price?"

He informed me that someone had previously bought it and had it about a week. She decided she didn't like it and brought it back. They were about $550 or so new, so I felt like I got a deal. I bought the used one, and they delivered it last night.

I put in about 5 minutes before going to bed ... and I can't tell you how hard that was. I made sure I stretched, as I really felt this in my hamstrings.

I've been on it twice this morning ... and it's about time to jump on it again for another 5 minutes. I've already been on it a total of 8 minutes today, so with another 5, that will make 13 minutes. For now, I'm just trying to get on it many times a day and do a quick 5. I'll try to get a good amount of minutes in daily, and then next week; I'll go for 6 minutes.

I have about a month before I head back to the doctor ... and I hope to be about 10 lbs lighter by then. Then, I'll have have another 10 I want to lose.

Again. My sig tag today was done using the small flowers on my website.

I hope you have a marvelous Sunday.

4/17/10: Beautiful card - Free Graphics

Good morning! It's Saturday!!!

I love weekends. As I said in an earlier post, I only worked 4 hours yesterday. I came home just bursting to create something new. The last few days that were all posted today, are my finished creations that I had fun putting together.

I really like this first one, and it is actually my favorite out of all of them. I just love the flower in this creation, and designated it to my flower sig tag, which you see at the bottom. At least until I find another "favorite". (I'm thinking of trying to design this flower in sculpey clay.)

This second creation is an offshoot of the first one. I just liked the look of it.

I hope you have an amazing weekend!

4/16/10 Two more card fronts - Free Graphics

Good morning,

Here's the card I did for yesterday's post with a white center, and the second with a white background.

Changing the background changes the look of the card front. I like the one I posted yesterday the best, but wanted to post these two also.

Have a great weekend.

4/15/10: Card front - Free Graphics

Good morning,

Catching up on my daily postings today. Here is a card front that I made on Fri. 4/16. I worked 1/2 a day yesterday (on Friday), and came home to do some artwork. I chose that over shopping.

I really like this. For tomorrow's posting, I will show 2 more of this version, done differently.

Have a great weekend.

4/14/10 Card Base-Free Graphics

Good morning,

This post was for Wednesday 4/14, but I just couldn't get my browser window to come up for posting graphics. I finally gave up, but everything else went on as normal. My website continued to post.

These were just a few items I had on my site for that day.

I will put up a few more posts today ... to get us to today: Sat. 4/17.

Have a great weekend.

Tuesday morning graphics-Silabella

Good morning,

Silabella is back in a card center creation. The left hand area above the big flower, lower left, is left blank to put your salutation or greeting.

Turn into a birthday greeting or any other occasion.

Maybe use it for "your little dancer" getting ready to perform ... or just after.

Silabella is on my website today, if you wish to pick her up.

Our weather is beautiful right now.

Have a great day!

Monday morning graphics-Silabella Fairie

Good morning!

The weekend is over, and it's time to get back to the weekly "grind". Ah yes! Monday morning.

Away from the drawing board, and back into a world of "numbers". I'm in accounting, you know.

But, before I go, I wanted to show you the side bar from my website today. It's on this little fairie I created yesterday.

Her name is Silabella (pronounced like "silly", but sila, and bella, well; that's easy).

It's a common thing for most of my characters to come from my kaleisdoscopes, which are those flowery-type things you can make in psp. Like clouds in the sky or grains in wood, I see pictures in my kaleis.

Being that Silabella is a fairie, she can be any kind of creature because fairies are fantasy creatures. Her larger version will probably be posted on my website tomorrow.

I had a fast weekend, as I'm sure you did. I did go to my daughter's house yesterday, for a "meeting" on our upcoming shower.

The meeting was short, so it gave me a chance to visit with my granddaughter a little. She got out her coloring pencils and two tablets of paper. We laid on the living room floor on our bellies and did scribble drawings. She is kind of into vampires right now, as two her scribbles were ladies ... with pointed teeth.

She found a purse in one of her scribbles, a heart, and one of my favorites, a cute little snake. I was honored ... as she let me take home all the scribbles. She has a very generous nature, although there is a sadness in her that haunts me. She is not as "cuddly" as she once was, but that might be because she's "growing up".

Her life has been a hard life, and she's only 9. She'll be 10 this year. I wish I could "whisk her away" to more carefree times. A time when things were safer, and a child could just go out and play. It was a time when "adhd" was never uttered, because it didn't exist then. Have you ever thought of ALL the LABELS we have for people today? I think it's a sign of the times, and not the people. It's stress.

It's been a long time since she came and just spent the night here. I miss her presence around my house.

My daughter is in her 8th month of pregnancy. She's doing well. When she carries her babies, they don't move like the three I carried. You'd have thought there was a circus going on in my belly when I was pregnant. But "Emma" is fairly quiet, as was my granddaughter. That doesn't appear to be a sign that she'll be a quiet child though, as my granddaughter was quite active.

It was beautiful weather this weekend, and especially yesterday. The sun was shining, and it warmed up quite nicely. We've had a brief cold trend, and some rain, so it was nice to see the warmer weather again. I like this time of year ... before it gets HOT!

I hope you have a great Monday morning. Make good use of it. As for me, I have a least an hour to get back to my drawing board -- so I'm off to it now.

Sunday Morning Graphics

Good morning!

This is a daily sidebar that I put on my website. It features a creation, and how it came into being. I try to do this every day, although there may be days when my "brain is just plain fried ..." and I can't think of something to feature.

This is featured today.

This little gal started from a kaleidoscope I made. In the first picture, you see the portion I started with. It looked to me like SURPRISE. I copied a portion of her right arm, and mirrored it. Then I found something that looks like little feet and added that. Then I found her hair.

Next, I did a little erasing and started coloring her. I used the cutout method. Her shirt was done in 2 stages. Because I work in layers in paint shop pro (I still use vs 9), I colored each layer a dark orange, and labeled each layer. I then used the cutout features to choose the color of the item I wanted and the shadowing color I wanted. I played with the blurring and opacity till I liked the look.

I added cheek color, and a few lighter touches to her hair. I cleaned up any stray dots, and added the background. And last but not least ... the words.

And my little creation was finished ... although I did sharpen her a little. I think she turned out cute.

I also feature a weekly sidebar on the left of my website. These items change each Sunday. They are creations from the past ... or something from the future. They are small.

Of course, there are always 3 graphics to offer each day. Sometimes I have an example of how to use them; other days I don't. Sometimes the daily offering is offered much bigger, and it's on another page.

The daily graphics change daily. When they're taken down, they're gone, unless I feature a smaller version in the weekly sidebar.

I'd love for you to take a look at my site. Items are snaggable, and you may use them in any project you'd like. They are mine ... but I'd love for people to use them ... when they have a need.

I found that using these items in digital scrapping ... and even physical projects ... saves a lot of money. All you buy is ink ... and any little extras ... like glitter or gems ... for decorating printed items. They make lovely cards. Give it a try.

Have a great Sunday.

Good morning,
It is almost afternoon. I didn't want the morning to get away without posting something from my website today.
I made this little nymph fairie, and she was placed on a card. You can see that over at my website ... as it's different there.
Have a great Saturday. Our weather is beautiful today!

Sunday's Free Graphics: 4/4/10

Good Sunday morning to you.

It's been awhile since I last posted. Nothing new in that, I'm afraid.

Life gets busy, and I have to occasionally focus on a few different things.

This is already 4/4/10. Time is just flying by.

Yesterday, my husband and I followed my daughter, her husband, and my granddaughter down to Newport, Ky., for a baby shower. It started at 11 a.m. at Brio's, and ended about 2 or 2:15 p.m.

She really hauled in the gifts. I thought they'd never end.

She has a shower at work, another shower in KY (I'm bowing out of that one), and then her stepmother and I are throwing her one on May 1st. So this new little granddaughter is going to have some mighty nice things with which to start her life! Oh my!

It was really breezy yesterday. Brio's was in a mall on the Ohio River, but it wasn't too chilly. We had a few light sprinkles before the party started.

The chicken salad I had was delish, but I have some food allergies, and had a reaction right after finishing it. Darn! And it was so good, too!

The cake was adorable. I'll post a picture of it tomorrow. I don't know where they ordered it, but it was so darn cute!

I am back to posting at my website, and there are items there today.

I am off now ... need to get to the grocery store.

Have a great Sunday!
