Using a tutorial for making packages pretty-Paper Flower Adornments

Good Monday morning ... for a second post.

I've been cruising my own pinterest boards, looking at the websites to some of the items I've pinned.  It's fun to do.  I can see all the things I've pinned, and click to try the ones I want.  I've visited some marvelous places this morning.  It is still early morning.

I found a tutorial for this basic white flower at http://www.digu.com/in/tqydajxuSeya.  It is for only the basic flower.  Visit the site to see the instructions.

I already had made some red flowers previously, and I had them in my stash of premade items.  I thought the red ones would look beautiful in this design.

On the first one, I place the red flower on the top of the coiled circles.  (The side picture is placed further down, as blogspot is reordering my pictures.  It didn't get posted.)

This is the second flower I made.   This time, I used a stamping ink pad in blue.  I lifted each leaf, and placed a paper under the petal and over the rest, so just the top petal would be stained/colored.  I like it.

And I put the flower right on the center, and let the coils fall around it.  A yellow gem is in the center of the flower this time.  These will be great for decorating gifts.

They are super simple and fast to make.  I cut the petals bigger than on the first flower.  You can play with the design yourself to shape it how you wish.  The additions I added to this tutorial were just me playing around.

I like how they turned out.

After doing this one, I thought, "Hey what if I draw back every other petal and loop it behind, how would it look?"  I am holding this in place, but future ones, will include this new design.

And here is the first flower from a top angle.  Pretty, huh?

Hope you enjoy!

Pretty pendants for June 2011: 0001 thru 0004

Good morning, again!

I know I am doing less in graphics lately. In fact, I pretty much skipped the month of June. I just needed a rest. I've simplied what I'm doing to some degree.

I am spending most of my time creating and designing clay pendants.

Above, you can see 11-06--0001 through 0004. All four of these have coordinating beads on their bail (or wire used to attach to chain or ribbon). 0001 reminds me of a field of flowers. I love 0002 and 0004. 0003 took a along time to create. It's a bird flying.

Altogether, I have 19 pendants for June on Easy As Pie Daily Graphics. I will post other pictures, as I think they are so pretty. I often give the pendants as gifts. I'm sure I've shown you pictures of pendants that I've sent to my daughters-in-law. My daughter has a few now, too, as well as my granddaughter. Several people at work have some pendants, too.

Some are smooth the feel: 0002 and 0004. 0001 and 0003 are textured when felt.

That's it. Have a great day!

Forgotten souls

Good morning,

This is posted for Saturday. I have not posted as much this last week. It's been busy, so what can I say?

I miss the "forgotten souls" of summer that dot our gardens. Pretty, pretty ... so fresh and vibrant. It has been very cold lately. The radio announcer said it is "dangerously" cold.

The water dish for the wild kitties keeps freezing solid. I keep bringing it back in and thawing it out, and putting fresh into it. It feels like it's been a long winter.

My granddaughter was over to spend last night with me. I helped her put on her tights for church this morning. My, those were some THICK tights. But, she looked so cute.

She has long, blonde hair. "Can you give me some curls, mamaw?" she asked. "I'll try", I said. We managed to get a long tendril on each side of her face. She loved it. In the absence of summer's beauty, she shines.

This month is the anniversary of my father's death. It has been many years now. And while he is gone; he is NOT forgotten.

Hope you are having a delightful weekend! Back in a minute!
