Easter 2013: Some Easter fun graphics!

Happy Easter 2013!

Two pictures for today.
The first above was fun to do.
It was done today.

Here is my second picture.  This one was done on the 27th.

Easter marks the end of March.

Since I last wrote, so much has happened.

My husband lost his job after 15 years with his company.  Well, actually, his company was bought several years ago, and everything went well.

But eventually the company that bought him was bought by a larger company.

Last year, he got a new supervisor.  This has been a very hard year for him.  With each passing day, I felt they were targeting him to get rid of him, and they finally did.  They have eliminated many of the old company people, and there is only one left from the original company.  I'm sure he'll eventually go, as well.

On the one hand, I am sorry he lost his job.  On the other hand, I'm glad he lost his job. They were making him miserable.

My work at home days have changed from Monday and Tuesday to Thursday and Friday.  One of my friends in our group, who holds the same position I do, has moved into another group.

I miss her presence, but am very glad for her.  She has many years left to work and I only have a few.

Next year, we stand to see two retire in our group, only leaving five.  When I go, there will only be four.

I was planning on waiting till I'm 66, but it depends.  I might opt to go sooner.  I'll just have to wait and see how things play out.

I'm glad to see March end.  This month, I've had some nerve pain in my right arm and hand with stiffness in my right shoulder from an accident I had at work in June, 2008. Funny how these things kick up again.  Hoping warmer weather tames it down a little.

I went to the eye doctor this month due to some pain in my right eye.  My vision is getting old along with the rest of me, and it was time for a long-overdue checkup.  After being treated for dry eye for two weeks, I had my eye exam, and I ordered new glasses.  The doctor gave me over the counter drops to continue to treat my dry eye condition.

I should be picking my glasses up soon.  This week sometime, I'm sure.

I'm due to see my surgeon this next month.  Time for my 6 month checkup after my Whipple Surgery last year.  After that, it will just be every year.

The world is going kind of crazy right now with North Korea.  It's all in God's hands, of course, so I don't worry about it.

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter!

Bless my sweet husband.  We have a double-car garage, and our doors needed to be replaced.  He bought one on Friday, and after he got it in, he went back and bought the other.  He got them both up, and working.  He did it all, by hisself!  Each door weighed 157 pounds. (He is very strong; especially for being an old man.)   We opted for insulated, to help keep the basement level warmer.

Take care, love your families, and take peace in knowing, "HE Lives!"

God bless!

Easter Celebration and Free Graphics For Scrapping Your Memories

Good morning to you all!

Today's creation is one featuring myself ... and my adorable granddaughter, in a joint art project on Easter Sunday. Her mother took this picture (thanks, sweetheart), and I took it and put it in a scrap (or could be a card front) using a few of the items that are featured on my website. Head on over to Easy As Pie Daily Graphics to pick up any of the free graphics you'd like to use to embellish your own creations!

As you can see, we went together on an art project. My granddaughter loves using water colors on canvas, and one of her favorite things is to sprinkle it with salt. As it dissolves, it adds texture and design, and really makes it pop. It is so pretty.

I'd never done this, so she was teaching me! It was so much fun ... and she is an excellent teacher.

My half of the creation is along the border that I am holding, and hers is along the right.

I spent Easter with my daughter's family. My husband was in his hometown, as his son's funeral was on Monday. It gave him a chance to see his wonderful family, and really hunker down for a long week's visit. He stayed with his mom, and I'm sure she thoroughly enjoyed it.

As I needed to be at work, and couldn't take a full week off (plus 2 airline tickets are quite expensive), I stayed behind. My husband was cool with this.

My daughter made a wonderful Weight Watcher's dish. I loved it so much, she gave me the recipe, and I came home and cooked up a batch to take to work all week. Ahhh! It is so delicious.

I hope your Easter was as grand and enjoyable as mine was. (Thank you -- to my family!)

Take care.

Friday Morning FREE graphics

Good morning,

Today's graphics, pictured above is a gift tag, has all the elements above for you to create with. They are in jpgs.

These graphics were offered on Thursday. I made it into a card for Ramon, my husband's son, who passed away on Tuesday at 2:30 pm. My husband so wanted to get there to see Ramon before he died. The doctor thought he had a week, and had he had the full week, they would have been reunited.

But God has His own ways ... and it was NOT meant to be. The funeral is on Monday. I wish the survivors peace. Ramon's struggles are over, and he can rest in peace now.

While my husband is visiting with his family outside our state, I was visiting with my girls yesterday. My little 10 1/2 month old, almost 11 months now, is practicing standing and clapping. She is so adorable, and loves to see me when I visit.

My older granddaughter is still a delight to me. The four of us went for a long, long walk yesterday because the sun was shining, and it was a fairly beautiful day. There was a cool breeze, but we had a wonderful time walking, as my granddaughters rode. One on her bike, and one in her stroller.

One beautiful day is all we're supposed to get this week: yesterday. Before it was rain, and following it is rain. We have had MORE THAN ENOUGH rain this spring!

If you're heading off to church today ... have a great time. I know my daughter's family is going.

And I will spend Easter with my daughter and her wonderful family this year! And my husband will be spending time with his family! (Have fun, sweetie!)

Hope you have a beautiful day, everyone!

Easter Sunday 2008

Good morning, all!

And a very good morning it is.

I have lots for today. Three creations! One was for yesterday, actually.

This first one was originally for today -- some time later in the day, after I knew that my daughter knew she was getting engaged.

Danny had called me on Monday night, and asked for my blessing. He said he would propose Easter Sunday.

Hence ... this creation.

But. Saturday evening came. Jillian and Taylor had spent a few hours with me yesterday afternoon, and then went to Danny's. I guess he was too excited to wait till Sunday. Actually, he just felt with the 3 of them being together alone, it was the best time. He was right!

Shortly after he proposed, my daughter texted each family member. Both she and her daughter received rings. They are beautiful.

I called her right away. She told me all about it.

Taylor is delighted, but had questions. "What if you get a divorce? What if you 'call-off' the wedding?"

Both Danny and Jillian had previous marriages. Jillian was engaged to someone last year, and she and her fiance decided to cancel their wedding.

Divorce and cancellations loom large in a young child's eyes. She wants to be a family with her mom and Danny! She adores him, and the feeling is likewise! Thank you, God!

Both assured her that they'd taken great care in choosing each other, taking couple classes together, and talking to their pastor about their plans. They said they were both committed to each other, and her, and making it all work. It was just what she wanted/needed to hear. That is one happy little girl now.

And so are our families. We knew Danny and Jillian were planning to marry -- eventually. We knew it was a good match. They are devoted to each other, and Taylor.

This has been a very happy Easter for me! So this morning, I did this little creation -- to wish you all a very Happy Easter!

The worm and carrot were created in Cosmic Blobs. The flowers are kalei'd, of course. I love the colors!

My car is home now, too! The cost was less than I imagined it would be, but still a hefty sum of money! But, it's working well now. Not only were the repairs done that needed to be done, but I had a lot of recalls on my model, and all that work as well as the labor on them, were free to me. Honda EAST! You ROCK! Thank you. (They also give a free car wash with every service call! You, my little red Honda ... you look marvelous!)

I did a lot of sculpey's this weekend. I made a little frame for myself, a curved frame with flowers and lady bugs and little blocks that spelled TAY for Taylor. It went in her Easter basket, and she thought it was so pretty. I made two robot mini sculpey's. They are adorable!

I made a heart for Danny and Jillian. The left side is blue, and the right is pink. The blue swirls into the pink and the pink into the blue at the bottom point with a rhinestone set in it's center. Blue for guys, pink for gals -- representing two hearts becoming 1. I put a magnet on the back, and it's all set for their refrigerator. My daughter liked it.

I made another little magnet for my fridge. Just something pretty.

This morning, I made a little frog. Turned out okay, but not my favorite.

Hoping you all have a marvelous Easter Sunday. I did!

See you soon!

Pre-Spring Tribute

Good morning,

With all the snow outside this morning, which is more than a foot, you might wonder whether spring will ever arrive!

While it's not officially here until March 20th, I did this pre-spring tribute to get you through the next 11 days.

These pre-spring flowers are kaleis. And speaking of kalei'd flowers, there is a website I found this morning that is kinda cool.

If you want to try your hand at making some pretty flowers, or just look at some that others made, try: www.zefrank.com/flowers.

This month is full of surprises. Besides the first day of spring, Easter Sunday is 3/23, and St. Patrick's Day is on 3/17.

The snow in Columbus lays like a thick quilt on the bed of our yards and driveways. Today will be a day of digging out, so we can get to work tomorrow. This whole next week, the temps are supposed to rise, and tease us with spring temperatures.

Have a really great day! See you soon!
