Sculpey Cat from Clay and some free png graphics
Good morning!
This is my png post for today.
I saw this little sculpey cat on pinterest, and made my own version. The tail wraps from the back around to the left side and around. In the picture, it looks different, mainly because he's all black and white. It's hard to make out the tail.
He is a sculpey cat from clay, in a cartoon-fashion.
The decorations are items you can use for scrapping, so hope you enjoy them.
Have a great day!

Anniversary Project Up Close
Continued from my previous post: Here is a picture of my little sculpey owl. He was originally made to make into a pin.
Carelessly, I dropped him, and his right wing broke off. I could not find the piece that fell in my office where I do my art. Someday, it will turn up. I had a little blended color from the original project, so I made a new wing, baked it, and glue it on; then glossed it.
The eyes are movable eyes, the kind that move when you shake them. I glue those on after my projects are baked and cooled.
Here is my little sculpey flower I made. I made two of these, and never used them, so I thought I'd add it here. You can see the wired pearls in this closeup.
And last, but not least ... the butterfly was bought at Michaels or Joanne's. They come in a set of two, and I hadn't used either, so dedicated this one for this project. The flower was made from kleenex/tissue paper. I used an ink pad to get the darker rose color on the edges.
That's pretty much it. I didn't show you the butterflies or bling gems. They are standard fare that you pick up for scrapping projects.
I plan to make more of this type of project, but in small sizes. Perhaps for a birthday or other gift. This particular project is about 8.5 x 11 just for the photo. The base extends out beyond that, so it is a fairly large project for me, but perfect for hanging on a wall to show it off.
Saving with thrift store items, such as the nightgown I purchased are cheap and fun to use on projects like this. This was a huge-gal gown, and it has ruffles and lace on it, which I also plan to use. Its wonderful. (I didn't know how big this nightgown was until I got it home, and tried it on. OH MY! It fell right off!)
Hope you enjoyed these projects.
Have a terrific Sunday.
Monday and Tuesday, I hope to post the two gifts I sent out yesterday.
Bye for now.
Keep crafting!

Sharing my little handmade art journal and a few starting journal pages
Good Sunday morning,
I'm back with my camera, and showing off my new art journal. There are no rules in your art journal. It's your art, your feelings, whatever pleases just YOU.
Another site to see about art journaling is here:
http://tangiebaxter.com/news/category/art-journal-caravan/
In this first picture, I played around with my heart cutter.
I also added a cute little flower from some paper purchased at Michael's. I had it around for several years, and had not used it yet. I added a little gem to it. The flower is from the same paper I used to cover my journal.
The little Christmas tree shape is a triangle from a dollie. It stamped it with paints to look like a little Christmas tree, and I used some of these as decorations on my Christmas packages this year.
There are 2 sculpey items, a heart that I love and hadn't used, and one of the little owls from about five that I made.
The little blue bird at the top is some of my digital art, that I printed, cut out, and added to my art page.
It's fun to flip through the pages and see what I've created!
Here's another art journal page. It has no title or words, but is just some digital art flowers that were printed on photo paper earlier this year. I added gems to add a little bling. The left side design, other than another flower, is black on white paper, and I just started cutting out shapes and putting them together. The 2 dots are from 2 different sizes of sticky dots.
Here is a poor picture of my little box, laying down and facing up.
Another picture of my handmade little book standing up and flinging it's pages open. The paper on the insides of the covers are pink; the same color you see in the spine below.
And here is the last picture of my little art journal. As I said, it is completely handmade. It has a fair amount of pages inside.
I will have to scrap most of them flat, but I couldn't help putting dimension inside it too. When it is finished, I'll attach a ribbon to connect to the front and back, so it will tie loosely shut. I'll place it on my black table by the stairway. I think it will beg to be opened and viewed.
Have a really terrific Sunday.
I'll try to get up another post of some pngs for you to enjoy.

Mixed Media Art: Cute Little Bubble Frame
Hello again,
Again, the color quality just doesn't make it with my new cell phone. I will need to try my actual camera, and see if it comes out better.
But since is to just show off my project, this will do for now.
The red in this is RED, really red!
Actually, the base of this was packing for some mod podge stars I picked up at Michaels. I was getting ready to throw the container away and stopped.
This would make a really cute frame with pictures or stuff, I thought. I had some of the pictures from the photo magnets I made for my daughter for Christmas. I've cut them out and have them for me! So I took 2 of my favorites, and added them here.
I took the base and painted it in several coats of acrylic RED paint. I was going to take the writing around the box off; then decided it would add to the picture, so I left it. I like it.
Inside the bubble are my two little pictures. Below the girls are 4 sculpey hearts I created YEARS ago. They were on a cute little girl holder frame I'd made. She is covered up by my little beautiful granddaughters.
I had some paper flowers I'd made, putting a gem in it, and added that to the bottom.
On the outside of the bubble, another sculpey creation; this time it's a flower. I put it on card stock and made the red swirly lines around it. Another flower paper creation and gem on the far right. And smack dab in the middle, on top, a miniature teddy bear I'd picked up on sale. I have one or two more teddy bears, and one pink bunny.
I put it all together, and it's ready to hang.
There is a little hole that was part of the package that is behind the bear (the hole was designed for hanging the packages on the racks in the store).
This really turned out sensational. I am in love with the finished project!
Fun things! Do you do things like this?
Enjoy.

Paper and Sculpey Christmas Ornament and a Get Well Card
Good Saturday morning,
Trials and tributions today. With my computer ... it's driving me crazy. I'll pull up a picture to edit it as they are usually too dark. And boom! Down my computer goes without any warning. That is puzzling to me, as I just bought a brand new computer this year.
Thank heavens my husband is a techie, and he comes up (from his cave, downstairs), and looks it over. I'm hoping it's fixed now.
It started a few weeks ago, but today, it will let me work about an hour, and then down it goes.
My husband thinks he's got the problem fixed.
It looks like blogger posted my items out of order. It figures. (I hope my whole day is NOT going to be like this.)
The first creation today is a card I made yesterday. It's going to be a get well card for a friend that just underwent surgery. It in all black and white. The backing behind the quilled flower looks gray in this picture, but that's because it has shine to it. It's actually much more black.
I like all black and white cards, as well as many of my sculpeys. This picture shows two of my heart sculpeys. I love to do hearts.
I made all the paper for this creation and all the designs I've used on it so far. It is an unfinished project right now, but will be done very soon.
In an earlier post, when I first started out this morning, I mentioned I'd made an ornament. Here is a picture showing it.
It started with two flower designs under the heart that is showing. I cut out two and glued them together, leaving room to sneak a little stuffing inside. This caused it to bulk up and then I finished gluing it together.
I then punched a hole in the bottom and strung some yarn through it and tied it. I glue along the edges and pressed the yarn along till I got to the top. I let it dry and tied it . I made a bow and loop for hanging on the tree. And then, I tied it off.
I put a pearl string/glued again/around the sculpey heart. At the top, I wounds some yarn in a circular fashion to decorate the heart. The heart has a quilled circle under it, which is glued to a red paper base. Another quilled circle attaches it to the ornament. This gives it lot of dimension.
And that is the front.
Here is a close up of the sculpey heart on the front.
This is the back of the card. I did not make the sticker, but layered it onto a white card stock base, used a quilling circle to give it dimension underneath, and glued that to another red paper card. Another quilling circle is underneath that. When you look it it from the sides, you can see how it spreads out.
This was supposed to be the FIRST picture of my get well card. Alas, it is the last. Oh well.
It is not finished yet, but thought I'd post it, as it was one of my creations yesterday. I'm waiting for my muse to help me finish it.
Have a great day!

Christmas card closeups: Qulling, Sculpey, Tissue Paper Flowers
Good morning again, (This is for Friday's post)
I'm back with the closeups of the cards I just mentioned in my previous post. This item above is quilling, and I did this particular quilling set many months ago. I also use quilled pieces under the items I glue on instead of sticky dots.
Over the years, I'll use a product and like it a lot. I might be able to buy it again, but more often than not, it seems to be replaced by something that must be thought of as "New and Improved", but that I find I don't like as much.
Sticky dots made of some glue are some of the products I find very difficult to use. I have trouble getting it off the waxed paper, especially LARGE sticky dots. And then trying to get them OFF MY FINGERS and onto my project ... well, let's just say, "It ain't pretty!"
I got so tired of trying something new, and thought, "Ok. I'll just have to find a way ... and hopefully, one that will NOT keep costing me money." I tried the quilled circles, and they work terrific!
This is a close up the the sculpey flower I made some months ago; maybe last year. Probably last year. Since my surgery in July, I haven't done as much sculpey creating. I have made so many items, that I have jars and jars. So now, I'm using them in my card making. I should have enough to last me years.
This little flower just needed to be glossed. Another pet peeve. Sculpey quit making and carrying their hi-gloss coating at Michael's. I looked at Joanne's. I like their glossy better than a less glossy one they had.
I finally asked about the product, and someone at the store mentioned that some of the items had been discontinued. I waited to see if they'd replace it, but the answer must be no. I don't know why it was discontinued. I loved it. It really made my items pop.
It can be found online, but for the most part, I am NOT an online shopper, usually.
I'm currently using Americana's TRIPLE THICK, and I like it pretty good. And, it comes in a much bigger container! YEAH for that!
Here is a closeup of the bear's face. He's on all of my Christmas cards this year. Maybe I should've given him a Santa hat!
A closeup of the doillie, red tissue paper flower, some more quilling, and three of my sculpeys; two having gems on them.
This is the gem on the other side of the red flower.
And that it's for the closeups!

Owl Scrapping Pngs: Free and Social Security's Direct Express Card
To find the pngs for this scrapping project:
http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com/today-11-13-2012.html
It's Tuesday morning, and I am working from home today and tomorrow, but have a short time before I have to start.
I did a scrapping project yesterday, that I am featuring today at my website. You will find a zip file with 12 pngs inside. Open it in your graphics editing program to have the object only, no white backgrounds. Use to design your own scrapping projects. Fun!
By clicking through on the link above, you will see the picture I posted with me, my husband, and my granddaughter.
I designed all the elements in this zip file. The little owl is a sculpey creation I did a couple of weeks back. You'll also see the other owls I created, and two heart faces. I love to use my sculpeys in my art, and also on cards. I make ornaments, little stand alone creations, and jewelry. So much fun.
On another note: Food for Thought: Did you know that Social Security is phasing out all paper checks by March 1, 2013? What do you do?
All benefits must be paid electronically by March 1, 2013. You can get your payments directly deposited into your checking account OR to a Social Security Direct Express card (if you don't have a checking account). Your card is good for making purchases, paying bills or getting cash.
Apply for a card by calling Social Security at 800-333-1795 or get details at:
http://www.godirect.org
This information was taken from AARP/Ask the Experts: Diet and Social Security Checks: November 2012.
Have a terrific day!

Happy Birthday to a Very Special Woman and A Very Special Surprise For Me

I hope it will be a wonderful, terrific day for you to celebrate in.
This is the sculpey pendant and earring set I made for Kathy's birthday. I just love black and white, and it goes with almost anything. I hope you get many hours of fun out of wearing my gift.

Happy Birthday again, Kathy!
And to the rest of you ... have a great Sunday, also.

P.S. Yesterday, I had a blast from my past. Hi, Joann! I was cleaning out my spam box in my email and ran across an old friend's email sent to me back in January of this year. I was so tickled to read it ... and quickly responded. Being as it had been so long since she sent it, I wasn't sure how quick a reply I would get. I included my cell phone number ... and she called me. I had a wonderful chat with her for about 20-30 minutes. She is currently away, but when she returns, we will have a lunch together!
Thanks, Joann! It was so wonderful hearing from you!

Free Daily Graphics at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics; New Sculpey's

This morning's kit over at Easy As Pie Daily Graphics, is 3 Little Creepers. Creepers are tiny little madeup fantasy creatures, and they are great for putting on the edge or ends of things. Above is "Toothy" creeper, "Kingy" creeper, and finally, "Singing" creeper. They're doo-dads!

I really wanted to share this little "Goth" creeper, but he's not a digital graphic ... he's a sculpey creation. In this picture, he is standing next to one of my necklaces. I made this necklace several weeks ago, and I've been wearing it several days throughout the week. I love the colors, and it goes great with one of my shirts I wear.
The little "goth" creeper is just a fun little thing I made. Not a necklace, but fun.
Finally, this kit was for yesterday, Saturday.
There are 2 tubes in this kit, meaning I did not create the items, but used photographs I took of the items to tube. They were my Valentine's Day gifts on Monday, and I just loved getting them.
I ran over to my daughter-in-law's blog:
http://hillaryhagler.blogspot.com and read about their first trip of the new year: LAS VEGAS!
Nice pictures, and a very well-written journal of their visit and stay in this colorful, robust, jumping city. My son and she both love Las Vegas, and would love to move there.
As for myself, I went to Las Vegas on my honeymoon. The thing that enthralled me was driving in, and being able to see the strip before we actually got there. The scenery out there is just beautiful. And I loved seeing the sites leading the way.
The only part that I did not like was crossing all that desert! It is really sparse out there, if you're driving. I wouldn't care to drive it again. I'm sure flying in is absolutely gorgeous.
We did enjoy seeing the dam, Lake Meade, and the Grand Canyon on that trip though!
Take care ... and I hope you enjoy the graphics. Pick them up and use them!

Sculpey-Earrings-Necklace--And Free Art

I put the images up in one order, but when you hit the upload button, they always show up in reverse. I need to remember that.
Today, here are some of my sculpey items: a pair of earrings, and a necklace! They turned out well.

And now for my favorite pictures during this holiday season. I took so many, but am just choosing a few to post the excitement of HER holiday season at my home. As I said, she received everything on her 5-item list, and more.
Taylor is very much into art ... as am I. This is a feature we share that she finds great joy in; being like her mamaw! I love it, too! She got a set of colored pencils, some gel pens, and some metallic ink pens. (Someday, maybe Santa will bring me some of those same items.)

I just love this picture of Tay and her papaw Ray. Believe it or not, Tay was holding the camera. The two were in the kitchen, and papaw came up behind her and peeked over her shoulder. I have a very large one of this, and I'm going to get some large photo paper, and fill the background with black and print it out. I then hope to frame it and hang it in our home.

I love this smile! "This," she proclaimed with glee, "is my FAVORITE BOW!" She liked it because it was trimmed in white. I liked it best, too. All her packages had different kinds of red bows on them. Emma's packages had gold.

Probably got into trouble at home. Oh, the joys of childhood.
I love having her here, too. She is quieter at my house, and more involved in what she's doing. Not as riled up as at home. We have lots of interaction, and we also have lots of individual time. I don't know why she is so "over-active" other places. And while her mom says she has trouble lighting a bee under her bonnet, I have no such problems. When she stayed last week for a day and a night, she had an appointment to go to, and we got there 10 minutes early, and had to wait for her to go in.
My guess is she doesn't want to be left out. I don't think she has to be the center of attention, although she is a LEO. I wish I could do more to make her world a happier place. We have lots of serious discussions, too.
She asked me just the other day if I ever feel lonely. I told her no, not usually. I just don't.
I explained to her that being alone is okay for me. I find so much joy in creating and in my hobbies, that there's just no time to be lonely.
After our discussion, I thought back over our talk. On the way to her appointment, I told her, "When I was your age, I remember feeling lonely. You want friends to like you, and you try hard to keep their friendships, even when they don't turn out. You think that something's wrong with you, and it makes us unhappy. So I guess I was lonely for many years ... in a very quiet way, though."
I then told her that someday, she would reach a time when it didn't matter anymore what others thought of her.
I told her, "It happened to me in my 30's. I just finally accepted who I am, what I like, and that what I feel ... is as important as what others feel.
I like me. I am comfortable with me. And. If others don't like me, that's okay. Because I am okay ... just the way I am." I told her that her mother just came into this stage of "I'm ok!", and she's in her 30's.
Her mother was a lonely little girl; although she always had me. From birth, she went everywhere with me, and was more comfortable with adults than children. I homeschooled her for the last five years of school. We became good friends, even though we were mother and daughter.
When there is tension between us today, as occasionally happens, I remain quiet and let that time pass. It always does.
I hope these remembrances help my granddaughter. We've talked about it before, and I imagine we will talk about it again.
She did play soccer this year, and enjoyed it. She hopes to play again next year.
I think this is good, as piano lessons, guitar lessons, dance lessons, etc. ... are all pretty solitary activities. With soccer, she is part of a team ... and one of many of the other little girls.
She's also in Girl Scouts, and this is good.
Only time heals our worries. And some day, she will come into her own, and she'll realize that SHE is ONE SPECTACULAR little gal.
Remember to check out the free graphics over at www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com.

Download Free Graphics

It's been awhile since I've posted here or even on my website.
It just got so full; that I took everything down, and started over. At my website, that is.
So yesterday was my first day to put something up.
One month will always be up. This month started on Labor Day, Monday 9/6/10. I will take down all of September's items either on 9/30 ... or possibly 10/2; since that would be a Saturday, and I'll have more time.
Yesterday, I offered items for making a pretty cute card. Graphics are also offered in a download Word document to just print out and put together.
Today, I have a frame. The finished frame features Isabella, the little redhead to the left. She is only a small part of the frame. The full finished project is located at the bottom of my Scrapping page.
You can also see a lot of my scraps over at Scrapbook Flair dot com. I go by "FreckledGranny". This group is very, very active and I post a lot over there. This is a group of the most talented women scrappers I've ever seen. If you haven't checked it out, I would. Consider joining. It's a lot of fun.
Todays feature on my website is the frame, and the different layers are available by layer or in a png format in a zip file.
My new website, www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com, has basically 3 different areas to explore. I feature the free graphics, scrapping (digital scrapbooking), and sculpey clay creations. What you'll see there is some of the items I've made.
Check it out.
Thanks.

Because I Live ... I Create

Good morning!
So many ideas … so little time. So many mediums … so little time.
I live to create … !!!
These items are some that I’ve posted on my website. The nice thing about them is that you can pick up the finished item … or the individual pieces.
Pick a flower, corner a frame, or grab a background.
Decos, deco boxes, borders, accessories – all free. Just give yourself a minute … and go take a peek!

http://www.easyaspiedailygraphics.com/
Right now, there's items going back as far as September 2008. Half of September has been removed, and soon more will be taken down.
But while it's there, it is free!
Most of my wee mornings hours are at my computer -- just creating away.
I get caught between creating graphics, and creating sculpey's.

My clay colors have dwindled, and it is time to go purchase more.
If the sun comes out today .. I will take some pictures to post.
Until then ... I scrap!
Do you?
